Closing Date 2023/01/24 Reference Number DBS220713-1 Job Title Specialist Engineer [Centurion] Job Grade 18 Job Type Classification Contract Location - Town / City Centurion Location - Province Gauteng Location - Country South Africa JOB DESCRIPTION The purpose of this role is to support and optimise the procurement, connection and grid integration of IPP generation Projects by enhancing planning, design, and implementation with Eskom, municipalities and all spheres of Government and to ensure technical dependencies are identified, optimised and standardised.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Optimise integration of IPP Procurement Programmes and technical dependencies 2. Enhancement of utility planning for IPP integration 3. Grid connection capacity optimisation for IPP’s 4. Ensuring enhanced and equitable grid codes for generation integration 5. Provide specialist technology guidance and support for generation procurement 6. Effective problem solving, pro-active risk management and channelling of information 7. Maintaining effective stakeholder relationships

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
EXPERTISE & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES 1. Function specific qualification BScEng Electrical/Mechanical and 8 years experi-ence in the energy environment 2. Knowledge and understanding of ESKOM, renewable energy integration, other public sector bodies and relevant standardisation bodies 3. Specialist engineering capabilities covering generation technologies, grid integra-tion, grid codes and generation procurement 4. Provide support for multiple people and projects
