MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB 1. To ensure complete and accurate processing of financial transactions. 2. To prepare the monthly recons on the Land Bank Insurance balance sheet accounts, process various journals where necessary, and assist with management reporting. 3. To provide relevant stakeholders with accurate and complete information for reporting and decision making purposes, supporting the accurate compilation of Financial reports
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS General Ledger Reconciliations 1. Monthly balance sheet recons 2. Process various journals 3. Assist with queries on annual audit/Internal Audit
Bank Account and Administration 1. Ensures compliance of all legal documentation for all relevant Commercial Bank Accounts. 2. Assists in opening and closing of bank accounts. 3. Analyses commercial bank statements daily. 4. Identifies all debit orders and processes journals to relevant SAP general ledger accounts. 5. Investigates any unidentified entries on bank statements and escalates when necessary. 6. Performs the clearing of the general legder sub-bank accounts daily. 7. Performs the monthly bank reconciliations 8. File the recons and supporting documents for audit purposes
Financial Reporting 1. Opex/Capex budget and reporting 2. Monthly/Quarterly/Statutory reporting
Investment, Insurance & Reinsurance Accounting 1. Investment accounting 2. Premium accounting 3. Claims accounting 4. Reinsurance premium accounting 5. Reinsurance claims accounting
Ensure Adherence to Financial Processes, Procedures and Policies 1. Review and updating processes, policies and procedures on a continuous basis 2. Adapt the Bank’s accounting policies in line with the changing environment- IFRS, PFMA, NCA and the Land Bank Act. 3. Evaluate and improve internal controls. 4. Develop and maintain an accounting manual 5. Review to ensure internal controls and processes are in place 6. Recommend any improvements.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. BCom Accounting 2. 3-5 years experience in General Ledger recons 3. 3-5 years experience in Insurance accounting with exposure to reinsurance treaties
