JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this role is to support with financial accounts for programmes within the Infrastructure Delivery Division.

The Bank has sought to promote economic and social development by mobilising financial and other resources from the national and international private and public sectors for sustainable development projects in South Africa, the SADC region and the whole of the African continent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Functions
1. Review allocations to identify the cost centre (including to various programmes if project accounting is set up on SAP).
2. Respond timely to queries for programme financial information.
3. Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers.
4. Produce ad-hoc programme financial reports as directed and needed to support informed decision making.

Financial Accounting Functions
1. Support Programme Manager during project/programme budget preparation.
2. Create and approve project account codes and cost structures on project management system.
3. Upload approved budget on the system.
4. Review and recommend payment of disbursement requests on the project management system (approval of purchase orders) to ensure correct allocations.
5. Review payment requests (including travel) before submission to finance for payment.
6. Assist with preparation of project cost reports, financial reports, variance analysis and commentary for project/programme reporting.
7. Review cost allocation to project/programmes on programme management system, follow up on possible omissions or incorrect allocations and process adjustments.
8. Monitor and track programme and/or project budget spending.
9. Assist with project/programme financial close-out.
10. Responsible for all programme account matters.
11. Checking and verifying supplier claims.
12. Dealing with the allocations of reimbursable.
13. Reconciliation of programme accounts on a monthly basis.
14. Dealing with and managing payments.
15. Recording programme financial information.
16. Interpret and communicate financial data

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
EXPERTISE & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Minimum Requirements
1. A Diploma in Accounting /Financial management is required.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar job function
3. Relevant financial management experience in a project environment
4. Exposure to Supply Chain Management within the government environment is a minimum requirement
