DESCRIPTION
The Senior Communications Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:
1. Assist the Director of Communications, other departments and senior leadership in the research, design and implementation of the communications strategies
2. Assist in the planning and the delivery of internal and external communications activities and events for Africa50
3. Write, edit, and enhance articles, presentations, newsletters, promotional materials, etc. using a variety of media
4. Handle media enquiries, develop press engagement plans and interviews with top tier media
5. Plan and monitor the implementation of social media campaigns
6. Work closely with the relevant teams in identifying, developing and distributing communications that support and reinforce Africa50 messages, goals and objectives
7. Assist in the identification and improvement of communications channels that are user-friendly and regularly accessed by employees and key target audiences
8. Create effective content about important updates, news, events and changes
9. Must Speak and write fluent English is
10. Assist in identifying and implementing methods to measure and track the effectiveness of communications efforts
11. Apply diplomacy and decorum at all times in different types of situations and organizational settings
12. Manage production suppliers, monitor quality and ensure the timely delivery of communications collaterals
13. Actively build and cultivate relationships with team members, peers, leadership and employees across the organization
14. Work as an individual contributor in a strong team environment
15. Coordinate and/or support events and meetings hosted by Africa50
16. Ensure communications adhere to brand standards and internal policies
17. Plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously and independently to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
18. Ability to convey information creatively and graphically using Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Essential Qualifications & Experience
1. At least a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or any other related discipline
2. Experience in the financial sector is key, experience in development finance is a plus
3. Strong time management, coordination and organizational skills. Project management experience is key
4. Minimum 7 years internal and/or external communications experience
5. Excellent writing, editing and analytical skills are crucial to this position
6. Ability to quickly learn and understand complex environments and team dynamics
7. Excellent proofing and editing skills with high levels of attention to detail and quality
8. Collaborative team player, with the ability to lead other colleagues in specific communications-related projects and support projects outside of core responsibilities to support team goals
9. Experience coordinating large-scale global events
10. Hands on experience with SharePoint, including html coding, and creating, managing and maintaining SharePoint sites
11. Knowledge of design and video software (i.e. Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Publisher)

Language Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.

Location
The Senior Communications Coordinator will be based in Casablanca, Morocco.
