DESCRIPTION
The Investment Analyst's role is to contribute to the investment team by providing core financial modeling analysis, research, and other required support to enable them to make sound investment decisions.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Build and maintain project finance models
2. Conduct industry, market, and company research
3. Participate in all aspects of Africa50’s project processing cycle from project development to disbursement
4. Participate in the execution of Africa50 Project Development investments with a strong focus on achieving bankable projects
5. Support the senior investment team members during negotiations with sponsors, lenders, and public authorities
6. Prepare project-related documents for internal and external audiences
7. Assist in supervising investments in portfolio companies.
8. Support the investment team in non-core investment activities (marketing, corporate initiatives, recruitment, etc.)

| REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
REQUIRED BACKGROUND
2 to 5 years prior experience in infrastructure project development and/or project finance within:
1) A project finance/infrastructure/power department of a Tier 1 international investment bank
2) A project or business development department of a Tier 1 power/transport IPP or a developer
3) An infrastructure department in a Development Finance Institution
4) An infrastructure/PPP department of a transaction/financial advisory firm
5) an infrastructure private equity fund with exposure to early to mid-stage project development
MBA, MSc, or equivalent qualification from a Tier 1 university

3. A strong understanding of the power and transport sectors
4. A strong understanding of PPP project structuring and project finance
5. Strong business development and client relationship skills, track record and ability to focus on clients’ needs effectively and identify potential business partners
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, fluent in French, Portuguese a plus
7. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with sponsors, partners, and colleagues from various cultural backgrounds; living experience in emerging markets is a plus
8. Prior knowledge of African infrastructure and relationships in Africa will be a strong advantage
Location
The Senior Investment Analyst will be based in Casablanca, Morocco.
