JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of the development of its activities in Côte d'Ivoire, GIZ through its programme for the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises and training-employment (INVEST for JOBS) contributes to the strengthening of the ecosystem and structures of vocational training in Côte d'Ivoire. In this context, the European Union (EU) proposes to provide funding to implement a new type of vocational training project focused on the concrete demand of private companies in terms of qualified manpower in the sectors of (1) industrial mechanics and (2) New Information and Communication Technologies.

YOUR TASKS
1. Provide advisory support to the component manager and the project implementation partners, ensuring the relevance and effectiveness of technical assistance actions and monitoring the expected results
2. Support conceptually the theme of technical/professional training in the field of industrial mechanics
3. Contribute to the refinement of the concept of implementation according to the "action description" (EU project document)
4. Ensure the planning, the coordination and the follow-up of the relevant activities of the implementation of the Project as well as their coherence with the results to be obtained in the Project
5. Mobilize, manage and supervise short term experts' missions, by ensuring the quality of their performance
6. Provide support and/or technical advice to national authorities, training centers and the private sector
7. Ensure a direct and regular professional relationship with partner institutions
8. Monitor the evolution of activities and results with the help of a management chart
9. Ensure reporting related to activities and contribute to the preparation of meetings of the operational monitoring committee and the steering committee
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB

YOUR PROFILE
1. University degree in the fields of social sciences, economics, politics, training engineering or technical (industry/mechanics) or equivalent
2. Solid experience in the field of technical/vocational training will be an asset
3. Several years of professional experience, preferably gained abroad, in the industrial mechanics sector or equivalent
4. Many years of general professional experience
5. Thorough knowledge of West Africa; Knowledge of Côte d'Ivoire and its technical/vocational training system will be highly appreciated
6. Proven experience in the private sector and a solid track record of cooperation with the private sector in West Africa
7. Strong ability to supervise projects and mobilize multidisciplinary teams
8. Proven experience in project planning and reporting
9. Business fluent in French as well as German or English
