ABOUT There is an exciting opportunity for a focused and dynamic individual at our client’s firm. Our client is one of the leading international legal practices in Africa. Currently operating in Africa and Germany. The firm is headquartered in Johannesburg with over 200 lawyers and business advisors operating across 54 African countries, Europe and the Middle East. The firm assists corporations, financial institutions and governmental entities with their critical business, regulatory and legal issues both regionally and internationally.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 1. Manage all accounting transactions, Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions. 2. Prepare budget forecasts. 3. Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings. 4. Cash Management, Maintains, monitors, disburses and replenishes petty cash fund. 5. Reconcile accounts Cashbook, payable and receivable. 6. Maintains accounting controls. 7. Documents, seeks approval for, and records adjusting entries in the general ledger. 8. Multi currencies experience 9. Payroll 10. Tax and regulatory compliance 11. Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance. 12. Managing Assets Register 13. Maintains client, employees, and vendor files. 14. Communicate effectively with clients.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
Should also be able to: 1. Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. 2. Document financial transactions by entering account information. 3. Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options. 4. Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports. 5. Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents. 6. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. 7. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. 8. Secure financial information by completing data base backups. 9. Maintain financial security by following internal controls. 10. Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements. 11. Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations. 12. Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. 13. Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. 14. Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. 15. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; 16. Participating in professional societies. 17. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or University in business related or accounting discipline.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS 1. 3-5 years of accounting experience, CPA Desired 2. Bilingual (English – Spanish) skills required. 3. Must be willing to live and work in Africa (Equatorial Guinea) 4.
