PURPOSE OF ROLE
The primary responsibility of the Senior Secretariat Officer in the Board Operations Team of the AIIB Corporate Secretariat will be to support AIIB’s Board of Directors, the Committees under the Board and the International Advisory Panel (IAP) as they execute their responsibilities in the context of governance to ensure the achievement of the Bank’s mandate.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The selected senior level staff member will take on several of the following responsibilities, in collaboration with the Board Operations Team:
1. Lead specific workstreams that drive the implementation and management of Board operations procedural processes;
2. Act as a primary and reliable communication channel between the Board, the Committees/IAP, and Management;
3. Ensure the quality and accuracy of official documents and presentations for the Board;
4. Organize and facilitate informal engagements of the Board and its Committees, including workshops and retreats;
5. Oversee the election/selection processes for the Board/Committees/IAP and manage Board appointments of the Bank’s Senior Management;
6. Plan, coordinate, and oversee virtual and in-person events of the Board, including managing logistics;
7. Provide guidance and support to Board constituencies in executing their duties, including through the facilitation of constituency meetings, technical assistance, and capacity building activities;
8. Conduct in-depth research on governance practices and recommend strategic enhancements to improve operational efficiency, transparency, and procedural integrity;
9. Ensure compliance with disclosure of governance information and Board decisions in accordance with the Bank’s Public Information Policy;
10. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Vice President and Corporate Secretary.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
1. Seeking an experienced professional with a minimum of 10 years of work experience in related fields, including a preference for experience in international financial institutions, international organizations, or national government administration. Background in emerging economies is a significant asset.
2. Demonstrated expertise in institutional governance processes, with a track record of executingsuch processes with efficiency and effectiveness.
3. Holding a Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
4. Adept at building relationships and collaborating with senior stakeholders, possessing exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, and demonstrating a keen ability to communicate and negotiate across cultures. Experience with project management is an advantage.
5. Attentive to detail and committed to accuracy, with a strong work ethic and the ability to lead within a team environment.
6. Proven ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines, with a passion for bringing creativity and new ideas to the job.
7. Fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
