JOB SUMMARY The Deal Origination and Structuring Officer supports TDB Group's asset management subsidiary, ESATAL in originating and structuring trade finance transactions for its funds' products. Drawing on a robust background in originating and structuring trade finance in Africa, the Deal Origination and Structuring Officer will: (i) originate and source deals both as primary and secondary, (ii) structure them and implement TDB's robust credit analysis process, as they present to the Investment Committee for approval and disbursement.
The position holder is responsible for growing deal flow and disbursements of the trade finance funds across Africa.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: 1. Identify and source trade finance opportunities across Africa that align with the expected returns and risk appetite of TDB's Trade Finance Funds. 2. Perform in-depth credit analysis on transactions and develop comprehensive investment papers that clearly articulate findings and recommendations. 3. Negotiate terms, financial and non-financial covenants, security packages, and other key components of transactions with prospective clients and partners. 4. Develop and utilize financial models to assess the resilience of cash flows and evaluation investment viability. 5. Prepare and present the investment opportunity to the investment committee for approval. 6. Constantly manage an active pipeline of opportunities for investments. 7. Travel as required. 8. Attend conferences and investor meetings as required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES 1. A master's degree or equivalent in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or Economics. 2. A relevant professional certification or license from internationally accredited bodies would be an added advantage. 3. A minimum of 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in trade finance, corporate lending and/or structuring on the African continent. 4. Deep understanding of trade finance and good negotiation skills. 5. Investing in Funds or experience in working with Fund or Fund service providers is a plus. 6. Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills including financial modelling and the ability to analyze financial statements. 7. Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve measure results. 8. Must be detail oriented but flexible to work in a fast-paced environment; and 9. A team player with good communication skills. 10. Fluency in English is a requirement. Knowledge of another official language of TDB Group's member states (French) would be an added advantage.
Duty Station The duty station is Ebene, Mauritius.
