WHY DOES OUR MISSION MATTER?
There are over 1.3 billion Africans in the world and is the fastest growing region in the world. Africa is also the most expensive place to send money to and trade with. Talent is everywhere but opportunity isnʼt. How do we bridge this divide with a sense of purpose?
Think about people living far away from their loved ones who are financially responsible and support them. Imagine how you would feel losing 8-9% of your money through fees. How do we reduce the cost of sending money home through technology?
1. What about the future for businesses? Think about those who are trying to do cross-border business from Africa outbound to the rest of the world? Why is it so hard to trade today? Why do people have to send money with other people physically or cash on planes? How much money and time is lost while doing this?
2. What about the reliability of trade? When payments are delayed, that means business is disrupted. This costs everyone money. It loses us trust with customers.
3. What about the future of work? Think about those young TikTok influencers in Uganda who make amazing content, but canʼt get paid because they donʼt have Visa or Mastercards yet have mobile money?
4. Client’s true impact will be measured by the opportunities we create for Africa to trade with the world and the world to trade with Africa.

JOB OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Your mission
1. Your mission is to serve as the frontline advocate, delivering seamless remittance services for our valued customers
2. Your role is pivotal in maintaining operational services for our valued customers.
3. Your role is pivotal in maintaining operational integrity and efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and resolving transaction issues promptly.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES in this role
1. Manage routine operational tasks to ensure timely processing of remittance transactions.
2. Monitor transaction volumes and address any operational issues promptly.
3. Address delayed or failed transactions promptly.
4. Manage invalid payments and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Assist customers with transaction reversals, payment order inquiries, and resolution of transaction-related issues.
6. Maintain high standards of operational accuracy and data integrity.
7. Identify opportunities to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for core operations tasks.
8. Work closely with cross-functional teams including Compliance, Finance, and Customer Support to resolve complex issues and achieve operational goals.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Must Have Job Requirements
1. 2+ years' experience in operations within the financial services, fin-tech, or remittance industry, with a focus on transaction processing and customer service.
2. Proven experience in operations, preferably within the financial services or remittance industry.
3. Strong understanding and familiarity of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to remittance operations.
4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, coupled with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
6. Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving industry trends and technologies.
7. Truly enjoy helping to solve problems for our awesome customers.
8. Approach othersʼ problems with compassion and a desire to keep problem-solving an issue until you understand what is going on.
9. Are motivated to help NALA grow through providing stellar service to our customers.

Nice to have job requirements
1. Experience with advanced data analysis tools or techniques to derive insights from transaction data.
2. Ability to manage small projects related to process improvement or operational efficiency initiatives.
3. Previous experience working in a startup environment or familiarity with agile methodologies.
