JOB DESCRIPTION A permanent position exist within the Strategic Financial Planning Department for a Senior Management Accountant at our Head Office in Sandton, reporting to the Manager: Management Accounting PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To assist the Management in preparation of IDC’s Annual Financial Budget and the Financial Forecast and maintenance, as well as assist with National Treasury submissions in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The key functions of the position include: 1. Ensure that the IDC Five Year Financial Forecast model is maintained accurately on an on-going basis in order to compile valid and reasonable financial forecasts. 2. Assist with the preparation of IDC’s Annual Financial Budget and the financial forecast incorporated in the medium term Corporate Plan (5 years). 3. Assist in the maintenance, updating and upgrading of the IDC’s financial model on an on-going basis with specific focus on producing a cash flow forecast, balance sheet and income statement. 4. Prepare any model input data to enable the update of the financial model on an on-going basis. 5. Assist in the processing of data updates to ensure accuracy of the model data, assumptions and calculations. 6. Assist with the drafting of IDC’s quarterly financial reports with regard to revised forecast and cash flows. 7. Assist with the provision of financial information and forecasts/stress tests/scenarios for rating agencies and funders to the IDC and for executive management planning purposes. 8. Assist with the preparation (in conjunction with Corporate Funding) IDC’s borrowing plan for inclusion with the corporate plan submission as well as the quarterly update reports. 9. Assist with the quarterly submission of financial reports requested by the PFMA. 10. Reconciliation of dividends received detail to general ledger for updating in the model and preparation of quarterly dividend schedule for financial reporting. 11. Assist the Manager: Management accounting with any ad-hoc assignments/requests. 12. Assist the Head of Financial Management with any ad-hoc assignments/requests. 13. Serve internal and external customers timeously and efficiently; to assist IDC management in the sustainable development of the company through making correct financial decisions. 14. Training and Mentoring CA Trainees as and when required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE 1. Clear understanding and interpretation of financial statements including knowledge of IFRS and its impact; 2. Excellent financial modelling skills using Microsoft Excel or similar software; 3. Ensure compliance with internal systems and procedures; 4. Understanding of financial instrument rights and obligations for issuer and the holder. 5. Experience in the reconciliation and resolution of differences in financing sub-systems. 6. At least 5 years’ experience in a financial accounting environment as an accountant or preparing financial statements and/or budgets 7. A strong financial accounting knowledge and experience base focused on financial analysis and reporting 8. SAP, Sound Excel Modelling Skills, Microsoft Office

QUALIFICATIONS 1. B Commerce (Accounting) degree, CIMA or similar qualifications 2. Accounting articles of clerkship would be an advantage.
