ABOUT KENYA INDUSTRIAL ESTATES (KIE)

Kenya Industrial Estates Ltd was established in 1967 to champion the development of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) throughout the country with specific focus on clustering of industries, rural industrialization and value addition to locally available raw materials. The institution has discharged its mandate quite successfully, in spite of the rapidly changing policy, economic and market environment. The last three years in particular have witnessed a major turnaround in the institution’s operations including posting of profit, resumption of construction of industrial estates, streamlining of systems and processes through ISO 9001:2008 Certification, installation of modern ICT hardware and software to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery and organizational restructuring including establishment of a risk management department, skills enhancement and recruitment of professionals where appropriate.
