PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the Chief, Strategy and Policies, these positions will actively support NDB’s businesses and activities, by contributing to analyses of relevant issues, development and elaboration of requisite policies, engagement with potential partners and multilateral forums, preparation of action plans and other documentation to support the Bank’s strategic priorities, and monitoring of policy outcomes.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
1. Assess the adequacy and consistency of existing policies and guidelines within the context of the Bank’s evolving operating environment and propose adjustments to improve content, clarity and enhance overall quality.
2. Oversee the development, review and periodic update of policies and guidelines and support the related work of NDB’s Policy Coordination Committee.
3. Help to coordinate the process of development and approval of new products and instruments and assess their alignment with the Bank’s strategy and polices.
4. Nurture a culture of innovation and change, including the incubation of new financial/non-financial products and business lines.
5. Develop, review and update NDB’s business plan in line with the Bank’s strategy.
6. Monitor and report on the implementation of the Bank’s business plan.
7. Collaborate in NDB’s technical efforts and negotiations related to membership expansion and other external activities involving international forums and MDB-led working groups, development platforms, and other joint initiatives involving NDB and/or its member countries.
8. Engage with all stakeholders and coordinate internal efforts for NDB’s effective participation in external activities.
9. Prepare and ensure effective communication of the Bank’s mandate and strategy to external stakeholders, including partner development banks, with a view to promoting strategic engagement.
10. Provide regular internal updates and reports on strategic engagement
11. Review external developments to anticipate challenges and opportunities for the Bank and conduct research on topics pertaining to the Division’s activities.
12. Participate in the formulation of Country Partnerships Plans and/or sectoral strategies, in coordination with relevant departments/divisions.
13. Coordinate the preparation of NDB’s Annual Report and other strategy-related reports.
14. Other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
1. Minimum of 5-9 years of relevant professional experience in a multilateral development bank or institution, governmental organization, public sector, academic/ research institution, or private sector company, including leading global consulting firms or policy think tanks.
2. Experience in framing of rules, policies and regulations, and general management activities.
3. Knowledge of corporate strategy, business plan, corporate finance, financial management, and budgeting.
4. Experience in international affairs, economics of infrastructure, fiscal policy, international monetary system, and international financial architecture.
5. Knowledge and experience in data collection, analysis and interpretation, building indicators, reporting and providing support for data driven decision-making.
6. Familiarity with operations, policies and processes of international financial institutions is a plus.
7. Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant professional field from a reputed university.
