OVERVIEW The New Development Bank (“NDB”) provides opportunities to qualified and motivated young professionals to develop their professional skills and expertise in a dynamic multicultural environment, and is inviting applications for the positions of Young Professional and Junior Professional, which are the entry-level positions for professional staff.
Based on the business needs of NDB, as well as the assessment on the competencies of the highly qualified and motivated candidates, the successful candidates will be assigned to a specific Department/Division of NDB, and the grade will be determined at the end of the recruitment process. Young Professionals and Junior Professionals are full-time regular staff and will have a four-year employment contract with NDB. The New Development Bank is inviting applications for Junior Professionals, Young Professionals, which are entry-level positions for professional staff, in the field of Portfolio Management in Treasury and Portfolio Management Department (TMPD).
PURPOSE OF THE JOB 1. Treasury and Portfolio Management Department (TMPD) is responsible for fund raising, liquidity and portfolio management and related functions and is headed by Director General (DG), Treasury and Portfolio Management. 2. The Portfolio Management Division is responsible for managing the liquidity position of the NDB. 3. Reporting to the Chief, Portfolio Management, this position will be responsible for regular reporting and analysis of Treasury investment positions and financial risk exposures, and managing cash and deposit activities in line with internal policies, portfolio objectives, and the risk management framework. 4. Under the leadership and guidance of the managers and expert professionals, Young Professionals and Junior Professionals will gain valuable on-the-job experience in a dynamic multicultural environment, and are expected to multitask and contribute to the achievements of NDB business, making significant contributions towards the work programs of the respective divisions while gaining a broad overview of NDB’s operations, policies and procedures. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to: 1. Calculation of risk limit utilization, Treasury portfolio position and risk limit monitoring; 2. Reporting on portfolio positions and exposures and investment activity; 3. Analysing economic conditions and financial markets in relevant markets to formulate an investment view and strategy; 4. Monitoring and forecasting of cash flows and balances ; 5. Managing current account positions, negotiating and agreeing term deposits; 6. Negotiating and execution of investment and hedging transactions; 7. Optimising aggregate cash balances and deposit exposures; 8. Assisting in regular business administration through activities like procurement requests and document retention; 9. Other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
1. For Young Professional: minimum of 3 years of relevant full-time professional experience (excludes summer/winter jobs, internship, traineeship, articleship, etc.) 2. For Junior Professionals: minimum 1 year of relevant full-time professional experience is preferred. The relevant full-time professional experience excludes summer/winter jobs, internship, traineeship, articleship, etc. Candidates with less than one-year fulltime professional experience, and fresh graduates who have obtained the education degrees, as required by NDB, could also be considered. Exceptional problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills with high resilience and drive in achieving objectives and goals. 3. High desire to challenge the status quo and bring in new ideas, innovation and approaches. 4. Ability to work in a multi-cultural work environment fostering a climate of teamwork and collaboration. 5. Strong analytical skills. Agile approach, highly driven, eager to learn and innovative. 6. Advanced Excel user including VBA development. 7. Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant professional field from a reputed university. Relevant certification/s from globally recognized certification agencies in the related field would be preferred. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 1. Working knowledge and experience in SQL, Python, R, Bloomberg, and/or PowerBI; 2. Understanding of vanilla interest rate and foreign exchange products; 3. Familiarity within dealing with financial risks and explaining profit and loss; 4. Prior knowledge and experience of working on treasury systems; 5. High level of accuracy required in trade verification with minimal errors expected; • Ability to manage multiple issues and effectively prioritize workload.
