JOB DESCRIPTION
Despite high rates of economic growth over past years, a substantial reduction of poverty and a growth in (self-)employment rates has not followed. The multi-year focus on the capital-intensive natural resource sector, which offers comparatively few workplaces, has led to a neglect of other sectors. Only approximately 3% of Nigerian youth that attended secondary school inscribe themselves in a technical college.
The Skills Development for Youth Employment (SKYE) Project in Nigeria aims to improve income-effective employment and entrepreneurship opportunities of Nigerian youth. On the basis of the Integrated Approach to Employment Promotion, the employability of Nigerian youth within the construction and agriculture sector value chains is improved.
