JOB DESCRIPTION
A fixed term contract exists for a Steel Master Plan Program Manager , the appointment will be on a two years (24 months) fixed term contract for 4 hours of contract time per day (5 days a week).

JOB PURPOSE
The position is a program manager role within the dtic, working within Steel Master Plan team. The program manager will coordinate and manage the tasks and activities of the work-stream and support implementation through active monitoring, evaluation and reporting on deliverables against milestones.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal / Operational Processes
1. Project Management including co-ordination of activities, workstream outputs and deliverables
2. Risk identification and mitigation
3. Strategic planning and directing.
4. Effective Programme Communication
5. Stakeholder engagement
6. Planning and organising.
7. Report writing skills.
8. Monitoring and evaluation
9. Provide feedback to the IDC executive, senior management and the dtic on a quarterly basis.
10. Quarterly progress reports and feedback presentations to the dtic and the IDC.
11. Development of dashboard for monitoring implementation of the Action Plan.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum qualification: relevant commercial or technical honours degree.
2. Project management qualification

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. 8-10 years Industry Development experience.
2. Solid understanding of the steel industry
3. Experience in coordinating policy programmes and projects with government and other stakeholders (private and public)
4. Must be able to demonstrate execution and implementation of similar projects and programmes.
5. Management skills: ability to guide and manage projects and teams and adaptable when working with different stakeholders and types of people.
6. Self- motivated and driven and can demonstrate prior experience in similar roles.
7. Organisational and administrative skills: well organised and skilled at programme management and pays attention to details.
8. Must be a critical thinker and able to work under stress whilst maintaining professionalism.
9. Strong interpersonal skills: high level of emotional intelligence and active listening skills. Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
10. Industry knowledge and ability to understand and converse regarding the technical, marketing, legal and social aspects of the industry.
11. Proven project and programme management skills.
12. Proficiency with MS Office MS Teams and other software (e.g. Zoom, Skype), Project management software and ability to conduct engagements on virtual platforms.
13. In the regulatory and legislative aspects
14. Appropriate qualifications and experience for the position is a pre-requisite.
