BACKGROUND INFORMATION Job Title: Business Analysts (2) [Kigali] Current Grade: JG6 Department: Business Development Duo Reports to: Functionally to the Manager, Equity Investments & Advisory Services Administratively to the AFIRR, Project Coordinator Direct Reports: N/A Indirect Reports: N/A Contract Terms: 5 years Renewable fix term
PURPOSE OF THE JOB The purpose of the job is to conduct market analysis, analyzing both product lines and the overall feasibility and profitability of the businesses. In addition, help to define business priority value chains problems via in-depth investigation and gathering of technical and non-technical information, develop and monitor data quality metrics and ensure business data and reporting needs are met
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB 1. Creating a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for a business 2. Defining business requirements and reporting them back to stakeholders 3. to performing financial and operational modelling, expected to develop new models that underpin sound business decisions 4. to provide financial insights that help the decision-making process and align capital and resource allocation within the business budget. 5. Identify, review and improve the internal and external reporting 6. Gather and analyze data for potential business expansion 7. Identify specific business opportunities 8. Influence stakeholders to support business projects 9. Assist with project management for selected projects 10. Coordinate with different departmental teams to produce better business outcomes 11. Test business processes and recommend improvements 12. Drive fresh initiatives for financial planning and business intelligence systems 13. Planning, monitoring, budgeting and forecasting 14. Financial modelling and variance Analysis 15. Pricing and reporting
Performance indicators 1. Number of projects with full documentation submitted to the investment officers 2. Number of customers/projects attended to with their requests 3. Disbursements made to eligible project beneficiaries 4. Number of firms supported by the project 5. Volume of financial support provided to firms 6. Women inclusive firms receiving financial support through the project 7. Social Economic Impact created i.e., jobs created, import substitution, tax generated, reduced carbon footprint etc. 8. Private capital mobilized by the project.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
PROFESSIONAL, ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies; Business Administration, Management, Economics Finance or related field 2. A minimum of 3 (three) years in similar position 3. Accreditation to the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) or any other related institute is an added advantage.
Skills & Competency Required 1. Experience with due diligence, analysis and structuring of investment/lending opportunities 2. Demonstrated ability to design, launch and scale new projects and initiatives Financial and management reporting skills 3. Ability to work with deadlines and schedules and strong follow through capacity. 4. Experience working with senior decision makers 5. Strong communication/interpersonal skills 6. Advanced Excel skills 7. Financial modelling 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills 9. Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities 10. Superior presentation and negotiation skills 11. Strong management and organizational skills 12. Adaptable and capable of working in fast-paced environments 13. Experience in clients’ relationship management 14. Strong understanding of regulatory and reporting requirements as well as experience in forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis combined with understanding of key performance indicators.
