JOB DESCRIPTION In the province of Maniema in the Democratic Republic of Congo, GIZ is implementing an "Integrated REDD+ Programme (PIREDD)" with funding from the Central African Forest Initiative and together with local actors from the private sector, civil society and government institutions. In the area of civil society, the Congolese network "Groupe de Travail Climat REDD+ Rènové" (GTCR-R) plays an important role not only in the implementation of the programme, but also in the area of impact monitoring, participation in the steering committee and lobbying for the local population. With the assignment of a development worker, GIZ would like to further improve the capacities of GTCR-R so that the network can fully play its role for the benefit of the local population.
YOUR TASKS 1. Building the technical and institutional capacity of the network and its members 2. Supporting the network's coordination team in its various tasks such as participation in the steering committee, impact monitoring of the PIREDD programme, lobbying and promoting a dialogue between all relevant stakeholders 3. Supporting local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and communities in developing project ideas and proposals in the areas of sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, good governance, renewable energy, reforestation, payments for environmental services 4. Support NGOs and local communities in the implementation of projects in the communities

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. University degree in agricultural sciences, forestry, environmental sciences, development cooperation, international cooperation or a similar discipline 2. Professional experience in advising civil society networks/institutions or first professional experience in the field of environmental protection, rural development or sustainable agriculture, renewable energies 3. Work experience in Francophone Africa or regional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa is an advantage 4. Excellent intercultural and communication skills 5. Willingness to work under basic conditions 6. Fluency in German and/or English, good knowledge of French
