YOUR TASKS GIZ International Services is shortlisted for the EU-funded tender Support to Green Electrons and Molecules’ (GEM) developmentin the Southern Neighbourhoodin the MENA region. The overall objective of the project of which this contract will be a part is as follows: to support the energy transition in the Southern Neighbourhood countries and contribute to overcoming socioeconomic and climate issues in the region. The specific objective is to create and operate a Mediterranean Green Electrons & Molecules (MED-GEM) Network in the Southern Neighbourhood region by convening dialogue and collaborative activities between key energy stakeholders, in order to facilitate and promote the growth of the GEM industry at regional level.

YOUR PROFILE Qualification and skills: 1. A University degree in Engineering, Economics, Law or similar, or master’s degree in renewable energies or chemicals, or any other related field (e.g., energy economics, MBA). 2. Fluent in spoken and written English and French, and excellent communication and written skills. 3. Arabic language is an asset.
Professional experience: 1. Minimum twelve years of experience in advisory activities for electricity market reform, RE sources, institutional, policy and regulatory frameworks. 2. At least five years' experience related to renewable energy programmes, green electricity, green energy technologies (hydrogen, electrolysers) and/or green chemicals molecules (such as hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, liquid fuels, etc.).
Specific professional experience: 1. At least five years of experience in supporting the development of green electricity, low-carbon gases (bio-gas and bio-methane, synthetic methane, low-carbon hydrogen) and/or the mitigation of fugitive methane emissions. 2. Demonstrated familiarity with the development of RE programmes, clean energy applications, as well as green technologies in industries will be an asset. 3. Experience on green energies, RE and energy policy in the Southern Mediterranean and EU-Mediterranean energy cooperation will be an asset.
