ABOUT

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
1. The Corporate Secretariat, headed by the Vice President and Corporate Secretary, is the focal point for communications and collaborations among the Board of Governors, Board of Directors and AIIB’s management.
2. Among its responsibilities is to plan and organize the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors, Board of Directors-related meetings, retreats, International Advisory Panel (IAP) meetings and Board visits and consultation trips, in support of high-standard governance and effective communications and engagement with the Bank’s members and stakeholders.
3. Under the supervision of the Vice President and Corporate Secretary, the Assistant Corporate Secretary is primarily responsible for supporting the Vice President and Corporate Secretary in communications between governors, Board members, and management, safeguarding the integrity of the Bank’s multilateral governance, managing the operations of the Vice Presidency, including preparing the annual business plan, budget and human resources plan, and leading the efforts of the Vice Presidency in proactively engaging shareholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Support the development of AIIB’s system of multilateral governance, as specified in AIIB's Articles of Agreement and other relevant documents, ensuring consistent implementation and continuous improvement, based on regular outreach to shareholders and learning from peer institutions and global good practice in corporate governance.
2. Lead the development, design and implementation of a comprehensive shareholder engagement and relations strategy, in consultation with key internal and external stakeholders, to build and scale innovative collaborative relations with shareholders that contribute to the achievement of Bank’s Corporate Strategy goals.
3. Lead the planning and organization of the Annual Meeting, any ad hoc meetings and voting process of the Board of Governors, as well as engagement activities with various groups of shareholders to facilitate and promote their understanding, support and participation in the Bank’s business development.
4. Facilitate and support the process and administrative arrangements for the election and appointment of the President and Vice Presidents.
5. Support the efficient and effective functioning of the corporate secretariat, by leading the preparation of the annual business plan and budget and human resources plan and representing the department in relevant internal committees and working groups.
6. Lead the development, design and implementation of the engagement strategy with host Members, in close collaboration with relevant departments in the Bank, and lead the cross-department coordination and negotiation with host Members related to the establishment of AIIB functional offices outside its Headquarters.
7. Support the Vice President and Corporate Secretary when required in their role to facilitate the meetings and exercise of the powers of the Board of Governors (BOG) and Board of Directors (BOD), and the communication among the BOG, BOD and the President.
8. Build and manage a team of professionals who are capable of ensuring the high standard and full integrity of the Bank’s multilateral governance, and are devoted to strengthening the communication and mutual trust between BOG, BOD and the Management.
9. Ensure regular cross-departmental communications, cooperation and exchange of information, lead annual departmental business planning and budget management, and facilitate administrative operation of the department as needed.
10. Other tasks assigned by Vice President and Corporate Secretary.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
1. A minimum of 15 years of working experience in international relations, corporate governance, board operation and public administration areas in a governmental or international organization.
2. In-depth understanding of multilateral governance and political challenges, with profound awareness mandates of multilateral development institutions.
3. Demonstrate ability in managing diverse teams and stakeholders, both internal and external.
4. An exceptional track record in achieving results, solving problems, and managing engagement events of all levels and scales.
5. Master's degree or higher in political science, public administration, economics, international relations, or related fields.
6. Strong managerial and interpersonal skills
7. Fluent in oral and written English, with effective communication skills.
