GIZ International Services is shortlisted for the EU-funded tender: „Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality (Phase II).”
The overall objective (Impact) to which this action contributes is: • To foster and promote a functioning pluralistic and participatory democracy in the Southern Neighbourhood countries.
The specific objectives (Outcomes) of this contract are as follows: To improve the skills of civil society leaders in policy making process, policy dialogue and advocacy To support the EU and CSOs in the Southern Neighbourhood in their structured dialogue with the European Union -in close collaboration with the Framework Partners4 and the EU Delegations5 To improve the DG NEAR HQ and EU Delegations’ capacities to work with civil society It should be noted that the development of synergies with FPAs and the EUDs6 is mandatory (second specific objective) for the TA contract. The practical modalities will be defined during the inception phase.
YOUR TASKS Key Expert 2 will mainly be responsible for the support to structured dialogue and coordination/ organisation of the civil society forums: 1) Preparation of CSF steering committee meetings of EU institutions and FPAs (one day two times a year in person with online presence of EUD colleagues, preparation of materials, minutes-taking etc.) 2) Support to all-year-round communication among the parties of the process (for example setting up of online meetings in between steering committees, consolidation of documents, providing STEs for necessary support to the Structured dialogue) 3) Logistics organization of CS Forum (including travel, visa, accommodation, venue, translation, refreshments, local transport, visa, communication materials etc.) Altogether three 2-day Civil society Forums should be held throughout the project approximately once per year with about 120 participants (both from EU and SN countries).

YOUR PROFILE Qualifications and skills 1) Academic profile: Master-level university degree or equivalent (i.e. 5 years of relevant professional experience following secondary education), fields of social sciences, International relations or sociology will be an asset 2) Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory. Knowledge of French will be considered as an asset General professional experience At least 5 years of working experience; experience with EU funded projects will be an asset. (in addition to the years of relevant professional experience required to compensate for the absence of a university degree) Specific professional experience 1) At least 3 years of working experience of developing and implementing policy and/or structured dialogue activities for civil society stakeholders 2) Previous experience in the Neighbourhood south region is mandatory.
LOCATION INFORMATION The location of the office, where the team will be based, shall be indicated in the Technical Offer and will constitute the base of operations. The choice of the location should be fully motivated and take into account the accessibility factor and strengthen the project’s ownership by partner countries. Office location must be in one of the Southern Neighbourhood countries (for the team leader and one of the KE). Field missions shall be carried out in conformity with the agreed action plan.
