DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The energy and natural resources industry is dynamic, diverse, and global. Our client’s network of energy lawyers spans the globe. Our client use knowledge of local markets and client familiarity with international best practices to bring practical solutions to businesses. The Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects group at our client, works with major energy companies, natural resource developers, financial institutions, investment funds, and governments and their agencies. The London office team has a strong international focus and works closely with our client’s global network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES Technical Ability 1. Understanding of legal principles of own practice area, along with a working knowledge of other practice areas 2. Has project management responsibility, ensuring timely delivery to high quality standards 3. Stays aware of legal developments affecting any specialist areas and regularly attends appropriate training sessions
Client Focus 1. Has good working relationships with clients 2. Has a good understanding of client, the sector and the associated risks and opportunities. 3. Actively works to develop and strengthen new client relationships 4. Team Work and Interpersonal Skills 5. Acts as a source of advice to others, sharing knowledge and expertise 6. PERSON SPECIFICATION The Candidate 1. We have an opening for a first rate energy lawyer, with experience in domestic and international oil & gas and/or power and/or infrastructure projects and transactions (including M&A). 2. Experience gained within a top tier firm is preferred. It is essential that the candidate has a strong academic background (minimum 2.1 degree) with excellent written communication and drafting skills. 3. The successful candidate will also have outstanding technical skills, together with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well in a team. 4. The ideal candidate will have at least four years post qualification experience (or equivalent experience). 5.
