JOB DESCRIPTION The Network Good Governance Africa (GGA) serves as a regional sector network for GIZ projects working on aspects of democracy, rule of law, good financial governance, decentralization, urban development and migration. GGA supports the exchange between GIZ employees from the region and relevant units in head office on sectoral topics and project experiences. The network uses different analog and digital formats, for instance thematic working groups, workshops, webinars and conferences. In 2023, the network plans to organize a large-scale hybrid conference to foster peer exchange and joint learning for all its members in Accra.
YOUR TASKS During your internship you will the support the following tasks: 1. Support of the content-related and logistic preparation and conduct of the conference 2. Cooperation with GIZ projects and divisions in the field of governance 3. Member and participant management within the network 4. Support in the development, preparation and implementation of various formats of networking in cooperation with GIZ projects and partners (incl. webinars, trainings and onboardings) 5. Support of the development of publications by GGA working groups 6. Support of knowledge management and communication 7. Support with all communication in French language

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. You are studying in the third semester or higher in political or social sciences or a comparable discipline, ideally with a focus on governance 2. Knowledge and ideally initial experience in international cooperation 3. Initial experience in event management & in the area of communication 4. Organisational and analytical skills as well as a high degree of flexibility and the ability to work in a team and intercultural setting 5. Willingness and ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new topics and work processes 6. Very good written and verbal English and French language skills; understanding and basic written knowledge of German would be an advantage 7. Very good knowledge of common MS Office applications
NOTES Please be informed that you are only allowed to apply for this internship, if you are currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago from the start of your internship. We pay a monthly stipend of €2.064,- (gross). Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
