ABOUT I&M Bank Uganda is a commercial bank headquartered at Kampala Road plot 6/6A with a growing regional presence. We are seeking to recruit a competent and highly motivated individual with extensive experience and abilities to support business growth in the following position:
JOB SUMMARY Coordinate and monitor the maintenance of the banks E-Channel systems including Incident handling, Systems operations, Systems monitoring and reporting, Configuration Management and provide the interaction between staff and technology, and to foster the enhancement of business processes through technology in line with the Bank business plan and ICT policy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Coordinating the Installation, configuration, upgrading and updating of ATM’s and work with the team to help implement Internal Systems. 2. Overseeing and coordinating preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and checks of ATM’s and software to achieve peak productivity and performance. 3. Coordinating monitoring of ATM’s and applications for errors and performance problems. 4. Monitor system resource usage and changes in user access rights in ATM & VISA applications. 5. Coordinating end of Day, system and data backup processes and archiving of data. 6. Providing innovative, workable solutions to a wide range of technical and user problems in line with interdepartmental Service Level Agreements. 7. Acting as a vendor Liaison on behalf of the bank for ATM’s & POS. 8. Provide technical support to all staff in line with ICT policies and guidelines. 9. Generating the settlement files for the VISA and upload settlement files for POS merchants in time. 10. Monitor error logs and system resources and make expansion plans in line with ICT procedures. 11. Monitor the ATM network and transaction volumes for violations and attacks / Frauds / High Net Values in line with the IT security policy. 12. Test the effectiveness of the security safeguards in place and prepare and test the IT disaster recovery plan (DRP) in line with the IT security policy for ATM’s & POS. 13. Draw up a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for IT systems and carryout an IT E – Business channel Risk Assessment and produce a report for management in line with PCI / VISA standards. 14. Develop and co-ordinate the implementation of IT Security awareness program to all staff and contractors in line E-channel security policies. 15. Maintain and monitor the HSM Security devices and Data card printers appropriately to achieve peak productivity and performance. 16. Ensure all the systems primarily in ATM’s / VISA related applications & equipment have appropriate back-ups in place and tested and reports are submitted and well maintained. 17. Coordination of any designated VISA / ATM / E- channel security related projects.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Information Technology/ Software Engineering or any other IT related course from a recognized institution
WORK EXPERIENCE 3 years demonstrated experience in IT systems administration
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES) 1. Creative thinking and innovativeness 2. Analytical Skills/ Problem solving 3. Knowledge of the operating systems used in the bank 4. Knowledge of the network design 5. Understanding of Back up and data recovery procedures 6. Knowledge of procedure for installation and configuration of data bases 7. Understanding of System development cycles 8. Knowledge of Firewalls/proxies and Routers/switches 9. Understanding of Network scanners/ vulnerability assessment tools
