JOB PURPOSE
Oversee branch operations through ensuring adequate controls and quality customer service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
Operations:
1. Manage branch operations in terms of processes, staff and assets.
2. Ensure that all branches operate in accordance with approved procedures and policies.
3. Communicate with external entities in regards to branch operations
4. Collaborate with other heads of departments on day to day basis for smooth functioning of the bank’s operations
5. Review reconciliation of Branch related suspense accounts
6. Coordinate different user acceptance testing for systems, whenever required for any new products or if there is any change in the existing products that are related to branches.

Cash Management:
1. Monitor bank wide cash positions to ensure that branches hold sufficient cash to serve customers and are within internal approved limits
2. Ensure the bank wide cash position is within insured limit and obtain insurance cover in case of excess.
3. Monitor and control Cash in Transit (CIT) among branches and BOT/other commercial banks, in accordance to security requirements

Customer Service:
1. Coordinate resolution of customer’s complaints/queries between branches and Head Office
2. Coordinate resolutions of branch queries and challenges with the concerned Head Office Units e.g. ICT
3. Ensure branch customer’s service delivery channels are all working e.g. ATMs. Audit and Compliance:
4. Ensure that all branches have completed Audit Agreed Recommendation Plans (ARP) on time
5. Coordinate branch audits by attending all entrance and exit meetings and responding to Head Office related audit issues as well as closing branch audits
6. Ensure branch operations comply with Regulators ( AML policies, etc.)
7. Coordinate provision of information required by regulatory bodies (BOT, PCCB, etc.) Operational Reporting:
8. Ensure that all branches perform daily review/monitor of various operations related activities through submission of reports (like account reactivation, new account open/closed, customer static data change report, customer mandate report, cheque book issuance report), account with debit balances (due to inward clearing cheques) and receives daily confirmation from branches.

Risk Management:
1. Coordinate the review of risk control self-assessments (RCSA) for branches in liaison with Chief Operations Officer and Head of Risk
2. Develop, update and maintain risk procedures and systems with respect to risk identification, risk assessment, risk monitoring, risk mitigation strategies and risk reporting
3. Ensure effective adoption and utilization of risk management tools
4. Drive remediation of risk management exceptions identified during audit or risk reviews
5. Promote risk management culture


Administration:
1. Disseminate Chief Operations Officer and CEO instructions to branch operations staff
2. Support the Chief Operations Officer in preparing branch related budget by providing input from branches
3. Support Chief Operations Officer in meeting corporate and bank’s strategy objectives related to branches
4. Overall, in charge of branch operations staff including leave management, interbranch rotation, performance appraisal, training, coaching and mentoring within the department
5. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor from time to time
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
1. Problem solving skills

3. Knowledge of Regulatory guidelines and industry environment
4. Knowledge of bank products and procedures, and policies
5. Communication skills
6. Knowledge on Microsoft Application

ACADEMIC / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration or any other related field

WORKING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A minimum of 5 years of working experience at management level
