Reporting to the Executive: Company Secretary, the focus of this role is to take responsibility for all the company secretarial work for the subsidiary companies of the Land Bank Group and to assist with company secretarial work for the Land Bank Group.
JOB ADVERT SUMMARY The role primarily encompasses the day-to-day administration of Land Bank subsidiaries, and with assisting the Executive: Company Secretary with company secretarial work related to the Group.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB 1. To manage and lead the Agricultural Economics unit to ensure that key strategic objectives are met. Is responsible for adopting and optimising a best fit operational model with the appropriate finance, governance and risk framework. 2. Lead and drive the creation and management of a bank wide knowledge information hub in terms of the Agricultural sector, different commodity types and their geography to ensure the continuous availability of consistent, up to date enterprise information. 3. Provision of Expert input in terms of the standardisation of Agricultural business principles and best practice and ensure the embedding of efficient processes and standards.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Develop, Lead and Standardise Agricultural Business Principles 1. Develop, implement and execute on an agricultural support service as aligned to the Land Bank Corporate plan 2. Design and implement a best fit operational model with the appropriate finance, governance and risk frameworks to support plans 3. Provide support in terms of technical and financial agricultural principles by ensuring the continuous industry information / data as well as a defined, utilised and best practice knowledge hub to support business decision making 4. Conduct benchmarks and ensure use in support of applications for submission including the utilisation thereof
Support Loan Assessment Process 1. Support and represent the agricultural specialist function in relating to the formal credit assessment process 2. Provides guidance an input into the approach to credit assessments from an agricultural business perspective to support more bankable and sustainable applications 3. Reviews credit applications and notes trends and deviations from standards 4. Implements plans and approaches to deal with quality of credit applications including templates, training and coaching of frontline
Reporting 1. Obtain all required information for reports including: 1) Analysis, consolidation and compilation of Executive summary 2) Presentation to stakeholders as appropriate 2. Provide formal feedback to the Agricultural Specialists on a quarterly basis in terms of trends within the business, the industry and lessons learnt 3. Submit the reports to management as and when required 4. Ensure reports are submitted in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements and within the allocated time frame
Stakeholder Relationship Management 1. Build and maintain effective stakeholder relations to support the business and promote awareness and understanding of sound agricultural and economic principles and standards 2. Create a strong customer service culture fostering an environment in which the unit works together to achieve all customer standards 3. Ensure that all stakeholders remain aware of the processes and principles related to agricultural financing and credit assessment process within the Land Bank environment 4. Ensure input is provided to all relevant internal stakeholders on agricultural economics, technical and financial aspects 5. Ensure specialist input on viability studies to support business opportunities of external potential clients
Departmental and People Management Performance Management 1. Analyse the business plan to determine the applicable deliverables and targets 2. Compile the Performance Management documentation in collaboration with the staff member in terms of: 3. Job Profile requirements 4. Key Performance Areas 5. Personal Development Plan 6. Conduct performance planning session and Track and monitor performance in accordance with performance contracts 7. Conduct performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures and take corrective actions where necessary
Capacity Planning 1. Determine the human capital requirements, in accordance with the expected deliverables and current capacity 2. Secure the human capital requirements to ensure that deliverables will be met in accordance with the expected targets 3. Set and achieve employment equity targets 4. Minimise staff turnover 5.
