JOB ADVERT SUMMARY
The Land and Agricultural Development Bank of South Africa (Land Bank) is South Africa’s only specialist agricultural bank established in 1912, the bank’s sole objective is to serve South African commercial and emerging farmers and bring specially designed financial services within their reach. These services enable farmers to finance land, equipment, improve assets and obtain production credit. As change has swept across the sector in South Africa the socio-economic makeup of agriculture has altered, bringing new entrants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds on to the land, these new farmers, facing the challenges of establishing sustainable agri-businesses across the agricultural value chain, Land Bank has been a commercial lifeline offering appropriately designed financial products that facilitate personal and commercial viability in a sector that is vital to the sustainability of South Africa and its people.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To manage the execution of business continuity management programme for the Land Bank and to ensure that best practice frameworks/ policies are used to safeguard against and/ or ensure recovery from all types of business disruptions and threats.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Emergency Response
1. Ensure delivery and maintenance of a fit for purpose emergency response capability focusing on effective response to physical disruptive incidents (i.e. safety, security and facilities related incidents)
2. Provide guidance in the establishment and enablement of Emergency response team
3. Promote and sustain emergency preparedness awareness and culture
4. Monitor internal and external environments for potential disruptive incidents and proactively inform stakeholders
5. Provide support to business units during invocation
6. Coordinate and manage emergency response exercises
7. Track and report emergency response capability
8. Assess and provide recommendations for emergency management

Business Continuity Management
1. Ensure delivery and maintenance of a fit for purpose business continuity capability with regard to business leadership teams responsible for managing financial and reputational impact of disruptive events for Land bank
2. Develop and implement BCM framework
3. Facilitate business impact assessments (BIAs)
4. Facilitate the development and maintenance of BU Business Continuity Plans (BCPs)
5. Identify appropriate service providers
6. Coordinate regular testing to enhance recovery capability & resilience
7. Measure BCM capability
8. Analysis and reporting on the status of Business Continuity capability, recoverability and resilience

Crisis Management
1. Ensure delivery and maintenance of a fit for purpose crisis management capability with regard to business leadership teams responsible for managing financial and reputational impact of disruptive events for Land bank
2. Develop and maintain the Crisis Communication Plan (CCP)
3. Provide guidance in the establishment and enablement of the Crisis Management Teams at business EXCO / strategic leadership
4. Promote and sustain crisis management awareness culture
5. Monitor internal and external environments for potential disruptive incidents and proactively inform stakeholders of such incidents
6. Provide support to business during an invocation of the crisis management plan
7. Coordinate and manage crisis management exercises

Stakeholder relationships
1. Participate in the Operational Risk Committee
2. Participate in the OHS& Security Committee
3. Collaboration with IT
4. IT Steerco reporting
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. A relevant Degree/Diploma in Business Management, Risk management
2. 4 years BCM experience (inclusive of emergency and crisis management)
3. 4 years of knowledge and experience on IT DR
4. 2 years of financial services experience

4. Advanced knowledge of Business Continuity Management principles
5. Knowledge of DR & IT Governance Principles

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Travel as and when required
2. Extended hours as and when required
3. Required to work off-site on occasion
4. Required to activate the alternate recovery site
5. Requires to represent Land Bank at external stakeholder forums
6. Requires the authority to propose emergency interventions across business
