JOB DESCRIPTION The German sector programme "Peace and stability", implemented by KfW and GIZ, as well as the project "Promoting Peace and Stability in Eastern DRC II" (ProPaix II) support the realisation of the International Security and Stabilisation Support Strategy for the DRC. The junior professional is responsible for supporting the sector coordinator “Peace and stability” and head of project ProPaix II, based in Kinshasa. The sector coordination includes programme-wide processes in the German sector programme as well as representing the portfolio of GIZ in the sector. The objective of the project ProPaix II is to strengthen gender-sensitive peace building initiatives in the provinces North Kivu and South Kivu in eastern DRC.
YOUR TASKS 1. Operating the monitoring system in the German sector programme at programme level, in collaboration with the implementing organisations / partners and in coordination with the sector coordinator 2. Analysing monitoring data and processing it for evaluation and reporting 3. Assisting the sector coordinator in other coordination tasks, including the collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) 4. Supporting networking with international and national, state and civil society actors in humanitarian, development and peacebuilding, and representing the sector coordination / head of project at stakeholder meetings during his absence 5. Assisting the sector coordinator in other coordination tasks, including the collaboration with BMZ and German Embassy 6. Assisting the head of project in steering and planning processes, preparing and organising workshops, elaborating new approaches and development measures etc. 7. Planning, organising and supervising national and international consultancies, in coordination with the sector coordinator / head of project 8. Supporting reporting in the sector programme and the project 9. Monitoring relevant media and sector information and processing it as needed

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. University degree (MA) in political science, international relations, development studies, peace and conflict studies, or other relevant subjects 2. First expertise in monitoring and evaluation 3. IT-competence; knowledge of technical Monitoring and Evaluation solutions is an asset 4. Strong conceptual and analytical skills 5. Initial relevant work experience in international cooperation and development work, preferably gained in developing or emerging countries, is an advantage 6. Consulting competence, communicative skills, teamwork capability 7. High willingness and ability to adapt and to learn also under stressful conditions over a longer period of time 8. Business fluent in French and German; Fluent in English
