DEADLINE: January 28, 2023 ABOUT The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a leading Africa-based, African-led, international research institution headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, with a regional office in Dakar, Senegal. Our researchers are contributing to the body of evidence about the critical issues in population health and wellbeing impeding Africa’s development in order to provide strong direction and recommendations to policy- and decision-makers at all levels. Our priority research areas are Human Development, Health and Well-Being, Data Science and Evaluation, and Population Dynamics and Urbanization in Africa. In addition to the research component, APHRC has other programmatic areas in Research and Related Capacity Strengthening, Policy Engagement and Communications and International programs.
PURPOSE OF ROLE The APHRC invites applications for Quantitative Field Interviewers in a study that aims to estimate the incidence of abortion, understand the circumstances women seek an abortion, the methods they use, and the complications that result from induced abortion, and measure the capacity of the health system to provide post-abortion care in Kenya.
The survey will be done in the following regions: 1. Coast and North Eastern 2. Eastern 3. Nairobi and Central 4. Nyanza and Western 5. Rift Valley
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Recruit/identify knowledgeable participants using a set of eligibility criteria across the country. 2. Obtain and document informed consent from the study participants prior to the interviews. 3. Conduct interviews with all recruited study participants and review collected data to ensure all questions are completed prior to online submission. 4. Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Principal Investigator
