SUMMARY
1. LeapFrog Investments is looking for a Profit with Purpose Officer to support our investment teams and associated portfolio companies to achieve impact in line with our stated Profit with Purpose goals.
2. The primary focus of the role is to contribute to the success of the Financial Services investment team in its investment and portfolio management activities, with a focus on ESG and impact measurement.
3. As an integral member of the team, you will support the day-to-day business of the Africa Financial Services investment team and contribute to portfolio company growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be working with and supporting LeapFrog’s Africa Financial Services investment teams and associated portfolio companies to achieve impact in line with our stated Profit with Purpose goals. This is to be executed through successful implementation and upgrade of LeapFrog’s performance measurement framework i.e., FIIRM, careful management of high impact projects and data analysis that supports understanding impact throughout the entire deal cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Impact and ESG Measurement (40%)
1. Collect quarterly FIIRM and annual governance data from portcos in a timely and efficient manner
2. Share relevant metrics (reach, jobs supported etc) from the data sets with IR, comms and LPs as requested
3. Analyze the data received on a quarterly basis and share insights as part of the quarterly portfolio review process
4. Define actionable insights, if any, from the data received on a quarterly / annual basis
5. Define and implement special projects with a large impact based on the data collected. E.g., help portcos prepare a market ready impact and ESG report closer to the exit process.
6. Work with the deal teams to drive the quarterly portfolio review process including impact performance

Portfolio management and cross-portfolio impact management (15%)
1. Work with the Africa Financial Services deal teams to drive the quarterly portfolio review process including impact performance
2. Support Impact Steering Committee (ISC) Chair in preparing materials for bimonthly meetings and ensure alignment with Customer Experience (CX) and Talent Accelerator work

Impact and ESG DD (20%)
1. Work closely with the Africa Financial Services investment team to perform initial, deep screen, and DD for impact and ESG
2. Based on the DD, create a 100-day Impact and ESG action plan for the company and support portfolio companies in closing ESG gaps

Value creation (15%)
1. Drive impact value creation projects in portfolio companies with investment teams and support CX projects in portfolio
2. Connect investment teams to relevant experts and manage engagement with expert network platforms to ensure high quality experts are available to LF on a need basis
3. Ownership of sector knowledge and identifying ways to improve impact measurement for Financial Services
4. Ensure cross-learnings are captured across portfolio and support investment teams to build knowledge

External Representation (10%)
1. Support the Head/Manager on creating content for thought leadership
2. Ensuring the Impact Measurement and Management Practice and key internal stakeholders remain up to date with relevant Impact investing industry trends, including IMM frameworks, standards and regulatory developments, as well as client, company and investor requirements
3. Assisting with communicating the work of the IMM Practice to external stakeholders and preparing materials showcasing impact performance
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Undergraduate education in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business-related degree from a top tier institution
2. 4-7 year of experience in ESG / Impact measurement in an Africa focused investment firm (prefer PE), bank, insurance or another financial services firm
3. Financial Services sector knowledge and experience e.g., lending, insurance and payments
4. Experience in project management and/or investment or operating analysis essential
5. Curious, inquisitive, collaborative, and ability to listen, prioritise, and structure own work essential. Also likes an entrepreneurial environment and thinking out of the box
6. Experience administering databases or cloud-based data management systems highly valued
7. Familiarity with data management tools e.g., tableau, powerbi preferred
8. Experience or familiarity with developing or emerging markets, and the nature of company operations in these markets preferred
