JOB ADVERT SUMMARY
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
1. To assist LBIC/ LBLIC Operations Manager with Data Management analysis, systems administration, Management reporting and Business Analysis for Short-term and Long-term insurance business.
2. Management and execution of backup and recovery processes and the scheduling of all database maintenance related jobs.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Database Development and Maintenance
1. Responsible for administration of all insurance applications
2. Identify backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures for all insurance applications
3. Develop and maintain database (repository system) which incorporates data from across programme components of all business partners.
4. Refinement of the data management system
5. Coordinate the management processes of all data sources.
6. Coordinate data collection, collation and reporting system development and maintenance at a national level and within projects
7. Ensure reporting, compliance and data quality processes are in place within projects.

Business Analysis
1. Formulate, implement & enforce proper data collection procedures
2. Map business system descriptions
3. Establish data quality standards with business partners
4. Maintain business partner relations
5. Define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements for the business
6. Perform quality assurance of all business specifications.
7. Define reporting and alerting requirements for the various business portfolios
8. Own and develop relationship with partners (UMA’a and Brokers), working with them to optimize and enhance business integration and data
9. Help design, document and maintain system processes for process and data integration
10. Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to improve integration with business partners

Management Reporting
1. Designing of report template layout.
2. Determination of data spec for partners data collection in line with legislation.
3. Identify trends, emerging developments through data analysis and make recommendations.
4. Specified intervals of MIS reporting.
5. For business partner reporting: planning and coordinating the respective business partner reporting specification and reporting templates.
6. Disseminating, and if necessary, further elaborating, business-wide instructions and timelines for planning and reporting of all stakeholders.

Data Quality Assurance
1. Provides input and recommendations into the development and trends into the market in terms of data management.
2. Consults existing control systems to determine their effectiveness and recommend improvements where necessary.
3. Develops the first draft of the control system in accordance with company format and requirements.
4. Communicates the implementation of the control system in accordance with best practice.
5. Implements control systems in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Relevant 4 year Commercial/IT Degree
2. Arithmetic and Statistic Qualification
3. 3 to 5 years' experience in database management & Business intelligence
4. 3 to 5 years' experience in report design, layout and presentation of MIS
5. 1 to 3 years' experience in short term and/or Life general insurance
6. 3 to 5 years' experience in Data Analysis
