JOB DESCRIPTION The project supports the Ministries of Forestry and Environment in Cameroon in the implementation of their national programmes. A key contribution is the consolidation of methodological approaches and models to ensure inclusive, sustainable and climate-sensitive management of Cameroon's environment and forest resources by local actors in selected communities and to contribute to value creation. The program's advisory services are provided at national, regional and local level and are aimed at both ministry staff and representatives of communities, civil society and the private sector.
YOUR TASKS 1. Collaboration in advising the cooperation partners on content-related and conceptual questions of their monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system as well as in the coordination of the project's M&E system 2. Supervision of the project's M&E system and support of the reporting formats 3. Prepare, conduct, advice/supervise the necessary studies and surveys in the field to support the project’s M&E system 4. Processing of methodological approaches and best practice (knowledge management) 5. Contributing to the writing of articles, presentations and publications on the programme 6. Support the project's internal and external communication 7. After successful familiarization with the project, increasing assumption of tasks within the framework of information management and in the document management system 8. Internal advice on digital transformation of GIZ, its topics, tools and solutions

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. Completed university studies in the field of political science, social science or economics or comparable courses of study such as management science, public policy or administration 2. Initial relevant work experience in project planification and in working on forest, environmental and climate-related issues in projects of international development cooperation, preferably gained in developing or emerging countries, is an advantage 3. Expertise in M&E, preparing and conducting qualitative data collection, analysis & interpretation is required 4. Expertise in inclusive participative processes and in forestry value chains development is required 5. First practical experience in international cooperation/development cooperation on the African continent is required 6. Strong conceptual and analytical skills as well as high advisory competence 7. High level of intercultural competence, communication skills and ability to work in a team 8. Business fluent in English and French
