All 12 CGIAR Centers are currently engaged in a transformation effort (the 'One CGIAR') that will help the CGIAR achieve better impact through more strategically integrated research, unified governance, an integrated structure, and new research modalities.

MAIN PURPOSE OF VACANCY
Within the IKI project “Conservation of pollinator diversity for enhanced climate change resilience” ICARDA is looking for two interns supporting trials on nesting of ground-nesting pollinators in different regions of Morocco, e.g. Kenitra- and Settat and/or other regions.

MAIN TASKS
After training and with guidance from the consulting team
1. Help construct emergence traps.
2. Set up emergence traps and monitor sites outside of Rabat on a weekly basis.
3. Look for ground nesting bee nest entrances in prescribed trials in agricultural areas outside of Rabat on a weekly basis.
4. Collect and label samples from emergence traps and identify them using a reference collection housed at ICARDA.
5. Collect data, manage it and post it to google sheets on a weekly basis
6. Maintain communication with the consulting team.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
1. University students who are currently studying entomology, biology, or agriculture,
2. Ability to solve problems and work independently in the field,
3. Ability to follow research protocols, collect, manage, and store data over a 3-month period,
4. Familiarity with google sheets.
5. Willing to travel from Rabat to three field locations in Morocco.
6. Readiness to stay overnight in remote areas.
7. Having a valid driving licence.
8. English language proficiency /French is an asset.

The successful intern will be offered a 3 months part-time internship and will be provided with a monthly all-inclusive stipend.
