JOB DESCRIPTION The Risk Management Office (RMO) Somalia is a commissioned project supporting GIZ implementation. The project aims at creating the preconditions to minimize the current and potential security risks of GIZ staff and to ensure the secure implementation of GIZ projects throughout Somalia. The project maintains seven offices across the country and a large volume of service contracts and secure facilities held on behalf of the Somalia portfolio.
YOUR TASKS 1. Support the Project Manager (AV) with overall project operations and steering project activity towards fulfilling defined outputs in accordance with the project commissioning 2. Support the AV in project coordination across portfolio entities as well as country office and Headquarter units 3. Support the AV with external service provider communication 4. Support the AV in strategic duty station development in coordination with the RMO operational unit and portfolio management 5. Lead construction processes (security upgrades) in coordination with project engineer and portfolio administrative cluster 6. Establish and maintain project monitoring tools such as onSITE Operations in close cooperation with the portfolio's administration and finance cluster 7. Support the AV in measuring and document project activities along the defined outputs and indicators through project monitoring tools and systems 8. Support contracts and procurement monitoring for the project on behalf of the AV in close coordination with the portfolio’s administrative cluster

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
YOUR PROFILE 1. University Degree in relevant field required business administration, social science, international relations, peace and conflict studies etc. 2. Several years of relevant professional experience in development, humanitarian and/ or international organizations in a similar role 3. Several years of working experience in/on a fragile/conflict-affected country, preferably in Africa, Near/Middle East or Central Asia 4. Experience in capacity development and monitoring 5. Experience in managing multiple complex work processes at a time under high pressure, as well as strategic and operational planning and implementation 6. Understanding of GIZ’s ‘quality in-line’ and administrative procedures is advantageous, as the position is identified to support project monitoring 7. Previous knowledge of German Cooperation commissioned projects, proven experience with onSITE Operations is an asset 8. Business fluent in German and English

NOTES This job is suited to a full or a part-time position. We are offering a limited-term contract until August 31, 2023 with the option of extending to February 28, 2025 upon receipt of the new commission of the project. The willingness for frequent business trips is required.
