This job role is part of the Bank’s Junior Professionals Programme. The purpose is to provide the candidate with an opportunity to acquire further banking, finance, and trade development skills in order to contribute impactful diverse ideas to the operations of the Bank and, where relevant, the successful candidate could be considered for a permanent role

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The role of the position holder will be to support in drawing up annual business development plans in trade finance and trade services and to implement these plans with support from the Director of Trade Finance.
2. The job holder’s main responsibility will be correspondent banking products, mainly AFTRAF.
3. Analyse information received from CLRE / financial institutions ranging from KYC / CDD, ESM and facility / product specific requirements for completeness before processing.
4. Analysing financial reports of potential customers.
5. Supporting in the preparation of Green Light Memos for new customers, facility variations and renewals.
6. Verify and or ensure that transactions are accurately captured on salesforce.
7. Prepare relevant product periodic reports to be reviewed and circulated internally and externally when needed.
8. Attending to product specific customer queries in a timely manner.
9. Sending reminders to financial institutions whose obligations will fall due to ensure timely decision making or settlements.
10. End to End internal follow-up of transactions with partner departments like TRSE and Loan administration to give any required information to enable timely processing.
11. Undertake any other assignment as assigned by TRFI.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
1. First degree in Business Administration, Banking or Finance from a recognized University.
2. Work experience of at least 3 years with a trade facilitating institution like banks, transport & logistics companies.
3. Ability to analyse financial reports for borrowers who can be financial institutions or corporates.
4. Excellent computer skills and usage of MS office applications like excel word and power point.
5. Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change oriented setting.
6. Ability to meet senior officials of financial institutions, sovereigns or corporates who may be involved in the correspondent banking services eco system.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French & English. Knowledge of the Bank’s other working languages is an added advantage (Arabic and Portuguese).
8. Willingness to travel extensively and to work long hours where required to achieve the Bank’s objectives.
9. Ability to demonstrate proof of passion and commitment to the socio-economic empowerment of African countries and the ability to support the achievement of making Afreximbank Trade Finance Bank for Africa.

CONTRACTUAL INFORMATION:
1. 2 Year contract.
2. Willing and able to relocate to Cairo for the opportunity.
