NATURE & SCOPE:
The role of the position holder will be to enhance funding models, identifying new sources of funding, and developing sustainable and effective grants programs. This will include managing overall grant efforts, documenting payments and expenditure, optimizing the grant administration process, overseeing fund-raising, preparing progress reports, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, reviewing grant proposals, managing grant databases, engaging with donor agencies and beneficiaries, educating staff on policies, and preparing grant financial reports; as well as the preparation of the Bank’s various reports and publications for Senior Management, the Board and shareholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Designing grant and TA programs;
2. Determining funding needs;
3. Researching grant funding opportunities,
4. Reviewing grant and TA applications
5. Coordinating and engaging with grant applicants.
6. Identifying support agencies.
7. Organizing and servicing the Grant Request Assessment Committee meetings
8. Optimizing the grant administration process.
9. Managing timelines and deliverables.
10. Preparing and monitoring budgets.
11. Preparing grant and TA reports for management and Board
12. Tracking grant applications.
13. Any other duties as may be assigned by Senior Management.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL
1. Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration or other related field from a recognized University;
2. Sound experience of at least 8 years in grants administration or with international organizations;
3. Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting grant proposals;
4. Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change oriented setting with good knowledge of African trade development;
5. Budgeting and accounting experience.
6. Knowledge of donor agencies.
7. Ability to interact with senior officials of banks, corporates and governments, donors etc and to represent the Bank at important professional fora where oral presentation will be necessary to a technical and professional audience;
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of the Bank’s other working languages is an added advantage (French, Arabic and Portuguese).
