ABOUT
I&M Bank Uganda is a commercial bank headquartered at Kampala Road plot 6/6A with a growing regional presence. JOB PURPOSE
1. To lead the Project Implementation Team and is responsible for achieving the project objectives in time within the approved cost.
2. The Project Manager works closely and in collaboration with the Project Implementation Team and vendor resources. He/she also acts as Secretary to the Project Steering Committee.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Be responsible for the end-to-end project management of the assigned project and ensure to deliver the project within the cost and time agreed upon.
2. Ensure proper coordination between project stakeholders in time.
3. Engage with appropriate stakeholders to ensure that business, technical and information security requirements are captured in time. Provide necessary direction and leadership to get the best out of the team.
4. Ensure development of Request for Proposal with detailed requirements and planned scope of work to bind the responding vendors legally to the Bank for due performance of their tasks.
5. Ensure that the scope of work, Service level agreement and legal requirements are appropriately incorporated in the contract with the Vendor.
6. Evaluate hardware, software and integration requirements in consultation with ICT and plan for hardware acquisition / deployment in time.
7. Critically examine project work plans in collaboration with the Vendor for its completeness and practicality. Provide necessary guidance to the team to develop workable project plan.
8. Ensure that the on-boarding of vendor employees is completed in time and they are provided with secure connections and required resources / facilities.
9. Ensure installation of the required hardware, operating system, database and application software by the Bank’s ICT team and the Vendor.
10. Explain the best practices for development of test cases to the user and ensure that comprehensive test cases are developed. Revalidate the test cases for completeness, business functionalities, process control and information security.
11. Analyze the results of test cases and report the issues/ bugs to the vendor and ensure timely fix to the issues / bugs reported.
12. Discuss with the vendor about any potential cost implication of the changes and submit to the Steercom with reasoned recommendation.
13. Ensure that the production systems are ready well in time.
14. Ensure that trainings for the business and technical users are held as planned.
15. Guide the project implementation team in conducting mock runs.
16. Plan, Supervise and monitor go-live preparations including migration of data, user access and hand-holding support by the vendor.
17. Review the project progress with the vendor, ascertain reasons of delay, engage with the appropriate stakeholders to address the issues and update the PSC periodically.
18. Call for emergency PSC meeting, if required.
19. In case of change to the baseline plans, agree with the Vendor on the revised plan, obtain commitment of vendor senior management and seek approval of the PSC.
20. Guide and supervise the development and maintenance of project documents by the project team.
21. Ensure payment of the project costs as per agreed payment terms, monitor project expenditure and advise PSC periodically.
22. Ensure that security controls recommended by the ISOs are implemented before going live/ handing over the systems to ICT.
23. Ensure business owner’s acceptance of the deliverables before closure of the project.
24. Ensures that the Signs-off on project documents are obtained and kept on record.
25. Ensures closing out of vendor payments and financial books of the Project.
26. Ensure closure of the project and handover to ICT and the business user departments.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related Course preferably in the fields of ICT/ computer science
2. Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is an added advantage.
3. Adept in Financial Technology

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three years’ experience in project planning & management.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
1. Proven working experience in project management
2. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
4. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
5. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint
6. Attention to detail.
