PURPOSE OF ROLE
1. Reporting to the Chief, Credit Risk, the position will contribute to the development and effective implementation of a comprehensive credit risk management framework to assess, control and mitigate potential credit risk for the Bank.
2. The role also requires periodic benchmarking of bank's credit risk management framework against best and emerging practices to enhance controls and mitigate potential credit risks for the Bank.
3. The incumbent will also contribute to raising credit risk awareness in the organization.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
1. Contribute to the formulation, implementation, and maintenance of the credit risk management framework.
2. Evaluate credit quality of the Bank's project portfolio by assessing industry, sector, and country risk, including contributing to early awareness of credit deterioration and communicate mitigation measures.
3. Conduct development of models and methodologies for assessing and mitigating credit risk in accordance with the Bank's policies and market best practices.
4. Conduct development and monitoring of the Bank's appetite for credit risk and support the strategic allocation decision-making process.
5. Work on the enhancement of methodologies for determining risk-based pricing, Expected Credit Loss provision and capital measurement.
6. Contribute to credit risk assessment of sovereign and non-sovereign projects as per the Bank’s internal policies and methodologies.
7. Contribute to regular monitoring and reporting activities and prepare notes to Management on credit risk-related issues.
8. Contribute to the identification and assessment of the credit risk exposure in the treasury investment portfolio.
9. Participate in developing stress testing models to measure any impact on the Bank's credit risk quality and exposure.
10. Participate in the development of credit risk management tools and process documentation and ensure dissemination of information in the organization.
11. Engage in discussions with internal and external auditors, compliance as well as other counterparts outside of the Credit Risk.
12. Conduct research on topics related to credit risk management, in collaboration with other Divisions in the Bank.
13. Other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
1. Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in a multilateral development bank or equivalent or regulated private sector financial institution with hands-on experience in the Credit risk function.
2. Sound understanding of credit rating methodologies applicable to sovereign and non-sovereign counterparties and extensive experience in assessing/ assigning ratings to counterparties
3. Sound understanding of various banking products like term loan, project finance, non-funded risk participation along with credit risk associated with them. Extensive hands-on experience in credit analysis of multiple transactions in each of the product category together with methods to mitigate associated risks.
4. In-depth practical experience developing and implementing Credit risk frameworks with established knowledge of international standards (e.g., key principles underpinning expected credit loss provisioning under IFRS 9 and Basel framework for capital requirements).
5. Strong analytical skills and business sense. Highly driven, eager to learn and innovative.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Exceptional problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills with high resilience and drive in achieving objectives and goals.
8. Relevant experience in a multi-cultural work environment fostering a climate of teamwork and collaboration.
9. Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant professional field from a reputed university
