PURPOSE OF ROLE
This job role is part of the Bank’s Junior Professionals Programme.
The purpose is to provide the candidate with an opportunity to acquire further banking, finance, and trade development skills to contribute impactful diverse ideas to the operations of the Bank and, where relevant, the successful candidate could be considered for a permanent role.

NATURE & SCOPE:
1. The nature and scope of the job is to support the Senior Manager, International Resource Mobilisation in raising funding to ensure that the funding requirements of the Bank are always met, through administering long-term funding programmes and structuring long-term borrowing transactions that are cost effective and fit for purpose.
2. Also, the incumbent will take charge of transactions input into the Treasury Management System, maintaining up-to-date records of treasury transactions and updating on a regular basis all reports produced by the Treasury and Markets department. This role forms part of the banks JPP programme.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working under the supervision of the Senior Manager, International Resources Mobilisation, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
Liquidity Management Strategy, Analysis, Planning and Funding Execution:
1. Support the development of the Bank’s yearly funding plan.
2. Assist with debt and capital market analysis.
3. Aid in the execution of the Bank’s long-term funding strategy.
4. Identify new funding sources to diversify the Bank’s funding.
5. Gather information for updating funding documentation.
6. Support the circulation of interest rate levels and private placement levels.
7. Assist in drafting Request for Proposals for borrowing activities.
8. Analyse borrowing proposals from banks for funding transactions.
9. Provide analysis and recommendations on pricing quoted by ECSs & DFIs.
10. Contribute to updating processes and procedures for long-term funding.

Investor Relationship Management:
1. Coordinate preparations for DCM investors’ meetings.
2. Assist in developing the Bank’s annual treasury activity timetable.
3. Gather information for investors’ presentations.
4. Maintain a database of DCM investors and circulate updates.
5. Support team members and colleagues in achieving objectives.

Treasury Transaction Processing:
1. Accurately record all borrowing transactions in the Treasury Management System.
2. Prepare necessary back up and supporting documents for treasury transactions.
3. Process invoices related to fund-raising activities.

Reporting and month-end activities:
1. Maintain the treasury headroom table and report accurately.
2. Prepare and maintain various schedules for day-to-day reporting.
3. Assist in preparing monthly treasury reports for ALCO and LMWG.
4. Maintain the treasury risk register.
5. Prepare a monthly Treasury market update.
6. Develop and maintain the Bank’s funding curves.

Treasury Risk Management:
1. Identify, document, and analyse treasury risks.
2. Make recommendations for hedging treasury risks.

Treasury Projects Initiatives:
1. Participate in Treasury and Markets department projects.
2. Assist in developing Request for Proposals for Treasury-related services.

Other:
1. Perform any other duties assigned by Senior Management.
2. Assist with relevant treasury administration work as required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
1. A Bachelor’s degree from a leading University in either Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or other disciplines relevant to the position.
2. Possession of a treasury professional qualification is an added advantage.
3. At least 3 years of experience in treasury, finance, or related field.
4. Knowledge of capital markets, derivatives products (Interest rates and Foreign Exchange) as well as money market products.
5. Good Excel skills and strong financial modelling skills (derivative pricing and balance-sheet modelling) required.
6. Solid experience in working with Treasury Management Systems.
7. Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change oriented setting with good knowledge of banking practices in Africa.
8. Ability to learn fast.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
10. Knowledge of the Bank’s other working languages is an added advantage (French, Arabic and Portuguese); and
11. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including ability to get organized and to work autonomously.

Contractual information:
1. 2-year contract
2. Willing and able to relocate to Egypt, Cairo for the opportunity.
