JOB SUMMARY
1. In this senior leadership role, the IT Director will play a central and transformative role in driving TMA's corporate digital evolution. This position is instrumental in ensuring the organization's technological infrastructure remains robust, adaptable, and aligned with the demands of a rapidly changing digital landscape.
2. As the IT Director, you will be entrusted with providing strategic direction for TMA's corporate digital transformation journey. This includes envisioning and executing a roadmap that leverages digital technologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and competitiveness.
3. Your visionary leadership will be critical in shaping the organization's future in a digital-first world.
4. You will be responsible for building a dynamic and cohesive IT team. This team will not only possess technical excellence but also a strong ability to collaborate effectively with TMA's internal and external stakeholders.
5. Together, you will work in synergy to ensure the timely achievement of the organization's goals, objectives, and mission. TMA is a dynamic, large-scale, and influential organization. As the IT Director, you will navigate the unique complexities of such an environment. This will require adept leadership, an ability to adapt to changing circumstances, and a commitment to ensuring that IT solutions align with and support the organization's overarching mission and objectives.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic IT Leadership and Vision:
1. Develop and execute an innovative, forward-thinking internal IT strategy that aligns seamlessly with the organization's global objectives. This strategy should consider the diverse perspectives and priorities within the organisation, ensuring a unified technological vision.

Team Leadership and Development:
1. Lead, mentor, and manage a talented team of IT staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within the context of a large, multifaceted organization. Encourage continuous learning and growth among team members.

Comprehensive IT Infrastructure Management:
1. Oversee the comprehensive management of TMA’s internal IT infrastructure, including systems, servers, networks, databases, and other IT assets. Ensure these assets are equipped to meet the multifaceted demands of TMA, continuously evolving to meet changing requirements.

Efficient Project and Risk Management:
1. Develop and execute a project management framework [that will successfully deliver the rollout of a strategic corporate Enterprise Resource Planning system] that efficiently delivers corporate IT projects of varying scale and complexity on time and within budget. This includes adapting to evolving priorities in a dynamic environment.
2. Manage TMA’s IT risks within a tolerable risk appetite.

Strategic Planning and Governance:
1. Prepare strategic and operational plans for the IT department to ensure that all necessary IT tools, processes, and systems are in place to meet business requirements. These plans should contribute to the achievement of short- and long-term goals for TMA.
2. Ensure development, implementation, and maintenance of all TMA policies related to IT services, including procurement, distribution, and asset management.

Security and Compliance Management:
1. Enhance and maintain robust cybersecurity policies and practices that effectively safeguard sensitive data and systems. This includes addressing stringent compliance requirements and managing the implementation of TMA's IT security strategy.
2. Ensure IT systems comply with regulatory and legal requirements.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
1. Enhance and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans. These plans must account for the diverse operational landscape of the organisation, safeguarding against potential disruptions and risks.
2. Facilitate IT security audits or investigations.

Resource and Vendor Management:
1. Develop and manage the planning and budgeting for TMA’s IT services to ensure resources are used effectively to provide top-tier IT services aligned with organizational growth.
2. Actively manage IT third-party arrangements within acceptable levels of risk tolerance.
3. Lead multisite IT systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP).
4. Develop a sourcing strategy to ensure appropriate procedures are in place to select equipment and services vendors. Oversee relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure contracts offer value for money.
5. Provide methods, tools, and procedures for data integrity assurance and guarantee daily operations.

Corporate IT Project Oversight and Improvement:
1. Exercise control and monitoring of IT project progress, ensuring projects are on track.
2. Oversee IT special projects, including planning, scheduling, managing, and progress reporting for new system implementations.
3. Ensure continuous improvement of the quality and cost efficiency of IT Services.

Corporate level responsibilities
1. Promote and adhere to TMA’s core values and ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
2. Maintain zero tolerance to bribery, fraud and corruption, and ensure the immediate reporting of any corruption or suspect behaviour that threatens TMA’s reputation.
3. Adhere to the safeguarding policies and procedures and immediately report any safeguarding concerns
4. Any other related responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager from time to time.
5. Apply the highest standards of controls and risk management practices and behaviours and embed a positive risk and control culture.
6. Demonstrate prudence, sound judgement and appropriate and timely escalations in management of all types of risk (including fraud risk) applicable to my role.
7. Understand and comply with the relevant end-to-end processes including applicable risks and controls.
8. Seek to identify, understand and escalate risk events/incidents/ issues on a timely basis focusing on fixing root-causes and taking ownership of identified mitigating actions.
9. Complete all relevant mandatory trainings within the stipulated timelines.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master’s and/or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science Information Systems or other relevant fields.
2. Understanding of IT governance, risk management frameworks and cyber security protocols.
3. Understanding of local and international data protection requirements. Certification in Data Governance will be an added advantage.
4. Project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP or Agile)

Work experience
1. Undergraduate degree holders will have twelve years’ relevant experience including five years of leadership and management experience and post graduate degree holders, ten years’ relevant experience.
2. Five years in complex IT systems administration of which must include delivery of a corporate ERP system.
3. At least 5 years technical experience leading complex projects with elaborate aspects of cyber security, cloud computing, emerging technologies (such as AI, DLT etc.)

8. Should have a proven ability to delicately solve sensitive matters and ensure value for money from service providers.
