ROLE OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Head of the ECOWAS Regional Radio, the incumbent shall supervise and ensure uninterrupted, professional and high-quality ECOWAS Radio broadcast across the ECOWAS Regions in collaboration with the supervisor.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Define and update the regional radio infrastructure development strategy.
2. Ensure the proper functioning of the infrastructure and technical equipment of the said radio.
3. Put in place modern tools for the management and operation of these infrastructures and equipment.
4. Inform and train technicians in the use of new technical materials and equipment.
5. Ensure the installation, security and preventive and curative maintenance of infrastructure and technical equipment.
6. Detect and repair breakdowns and malfunctions on the equipment of the regional station.
7. Ensure the updating of the regional radio frequency plan and compliance with national, regional and international regulations in terms of frequency use; etc.
8. Perform any other duty assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electric/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications/ICT, Media Production, broadcasting, broadcast technology or related field from a recognized University.
2. Five (5) years’ experience in broadcast systems operation and maintenance.
3. Experience in electronic engineering and communications equipment.
4. Knowledge and experience working with established rules and standards of operation set up by relevant regulatory authorities.
5. Knowledge of satellite communication equipment, FM networks, computer operating systems, applications and computer networks.

Be below 50 years old. This provision does not apply to internal candidates.

31. Proficiency in information communication technologies (ICT).
32. Fluency in oral and written expressions in one of the ECOWAS official languages of the Community (English, French & Portuguese). Knowledge of an additional one will be an added advantage.
33. Ability to develop, implement an individual action plan for achieving specific work goals.
34. Identify, organize, and monitor tasks throughout to facilitate execution.
35. Ability to contribute and/or lead on projects as per accepted project management standards and techniques, to co-ordinate contributions by others to set and meet deadlines.
36. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and work within timelines, giving attention to details, stakeholders, indicators, and risks.
37. Ability to identify, collect and assess indicators to monitor performance and to take proactive remedial action as required.
