ROLE OVERVIEW
1. Reporting to the Chief, Strategy and Policies, this position will monitor and report on the implementation of NDB’s General Strategy and helping ensure that use of resources is aligned with the Bank’s strategic priorities.
2. The position will support NDB’s businesses and activities by contributing to analyses of relevant issues and preparing business plans and other documentation to support the Bank’s strategic priorities.
3. Successful candidates will also contribute to the formulation of country and sector strategies, set up tools to facilitate project screening, and help ensure the development effectiveness and impact of the Bank’s interventions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
1. Contribute to the formulation and update NDB’s General Strategy, including the Results Framework, and communicate its main features to both internal and external audiences;
2. Assist in monitoring and reporting on the implementation of the General Strategy, providing recommendations to better deliver on the Bank’s mandate and strategic priorities;
3. Help coordinate internal dialogues on the Bank’s strategy and effectively communicate NDB’s strategic goals to all stakeholders;
4. Ensure an effective cascading of the Bank’s General Strategy to all departments and divisions;
5. Collaborate in the preparation of NDB’s Business plans, linking the Bank’s General Strategy with the Budget for the improved alignment of resources with strategic priorities in coordination with relevant departments/divisions;
6. Review external developments to anticipate challenges and opportunities for the Bank and conduct research on topics pertaining to the Division’s activities.
7. Participate in the formulation of Country Partnerships Plans and/or sectoral strategies, in coordination with relevant departments/divisions.
8. Develop and maintain NDB’s project scorecard and other diagnostic tools, providing recommendations to enhance NDB’s development effectiveness and additionality;
9. Communicate and mainstream development impact considerations into NDB’s operations and activities;
10. Participate in project appraisals and review project-related documents, ensuring projects’ alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives and improving the overall quality of projects, contributing to delivering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
11. Engage in the process of approval of new products and instruments;
12. Help the Bank in the development of a culture of innovation and change, including the incubation of new financial/non-financial products and business lines.
13. Join the preparation of NDB’s Annual Report and other strategy-related reports.
14. Other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
1. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a multilateral development bank or equivalent, or private sector company, or public sector institution, or academic/research institution, or leading global consulting firms.
2. Knowledge and experience in data collection, analysis and interpretation, building indicators, reporting and providing support for data driven decision-making.
3. Experience in general management and theory of the firm.
4. Knowledge of Corporate Strategy, Business Plan, Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Budgeting.
5. Experience in international affairs, economics of infrastructure, fiscal policy, international monetary system, and international financial architecture. Relevant experience in a multi-cultural work environment.
6. Proven ability and willingness to work in a climate of teamwork and collaboration;
7. Exceptional drafting and communication skills, strategic thinking, problem solving, conflict management, and interpersonal skills with high resilience and drive in achieving objectives and goals.
8. Familiarity with operations, policies and processes of international financial institutions is a plus.
9. Master’s Degree or equivalent in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or a relevant professional field from a reputed university.
