THE BANK:

The Bank’s development agenda is delivering the financial and technical support for transformative projects that will significantly reduce poverty through inclusive and sustainable economic growth. In order to sharply focus the objectives of the Ten-Year Strategy (2024 – 2033) and ensure greater developmental impact, five major areas (High 5s), all of which will accelerate our delivery for Africa, have been identified for scaling up, namely; energy, agro-business, industrialization, integration and improving the quality of life for the people of Africa.

THE COMPLEX:
The Vice-Presidency, Technology and Corporate Services (TCVP) is responsible for the design, development and delivery of efficient, people-centered, client-oriented, corporate services and information-technology solutions to ensure overall institutional effectiveness in all aspects of the Bank’s corporate services. The Complex provides leadership in the formulation and implementation of Bank’s strategies, policies, controls and approaches on organizational information technology systems, software applications, cyber security, IT support and infrastructure systems. The Complex is also responsible for management of the Bank’s real estate assets, institutional procurement, language services and business continuity.

THE HIRING DEPARTMENT/DIVISION/UNIT:
The front office of the Complex is composed of a partnership of experts which includes the Advisor to the Vice President and the Chief Delivery Officer. These experts are responsible for advising and assisting the Vice President to coordinate resources and deliver the work program for the Complex in particular, and for the entire corporation in general.

THE POSITION:
Reporting to the Director Corporate Programs, the Business Analyst creates, reviews, analyses and calculates historical and statistical data and generates reports on all aspects of the work program and agreed deliverables to be used by Senior Management in order to improve the complex efficiency and delivery.

The incumbent will be responsible for:
1. Leading the data collection and analysis work to identify trends, predict shortcomings and propose corrective measures. The information provided from the analysis will be used to support the decision-making process of the Vice President on key commitments as well as the setting of the executive performance agreement between the Directors and the Vice President.
2. Providing the Director, the lead advisor, the chief delivery officer and the management teams with relevant analysis and reports regarding status of delivery on the complex commitments, initiatives and deliverables and ensure the monitoring of the complex Dashboard.
3. Providing support in all aspects of the reporting and work closely with the focal points in the units to ensure reporting routines are implemented complex-wide.

KEY FUNCTIONS:
DATA COLLECTION & ANALYSIS:
1. Collect and store data from different sources.
2. Work closely with the focal points in the org. units reporting to the Vice President to implement data collection routines.
3. Be responsible for the design of reports to respond to recurrent and ad hoc queries.
4. Report on the complex performance on its Key Performance Indicators (KPI), key deliverables and commitments.
5. Whenever possible, predict shortfall and underperformance and propose corrective measures.
6. Draft monthly flash reports for the President and the Senior Management.
7. Draft the progress report on audit recommendations
8. Collect data and prepare analyses for the front office and for the complex, contributing to briefs for the Vice President and other documents.
9. Assist in collecting and reviewing input on the complex performance for the budget and work programme reports, the results measurement framework (RMF) and the Africa Development Effectiveness Report (ADER), among others.
10. Develop training materials on the use of the data and the reports.

POLICIES & PROCESSES AND INTERACTIONS WITH THE STAKEHOLDERS:
1. Identify areas of improvement of the Reports in view of permanently optimizing efficiency and reliability of the use of the Data.
2. Coordinate TCVP Management response to internal audit assignments.
3. Interact with partner org. units and counterparts in sister organizations to promote and implement good practices in the areas of data management and reporting.
4. Participate to the different task forces to improve process efficiency and data quality.
5. Maintain and nurture good communication within the complex in general and with the focal points in particular.
6. Develop and maintain appropriate benchmarks with other organizations.
7. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
COMPETENCIES (skills, experience and knowledge):
1. At least a Master’s degree in Management, Business administration, Computer Science or related disciplines.
2. At least four (4) years of relevant work experience preferably in an international organization.
3. A professional qualification in data visualization is desirable.
4. Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to build complex templates for data collection and analysis.
6. Strong understanding of data analysis and interpretation with ability to communicate to non-experts complex concepts in written and verbal manner.
7. Demonstrates professional competence.
8. Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results.
9. Communicate and write effectively in French or English, with a good working knowledge of the other language.
10. Competence in the use of standard Microsoft Office Suite applications.
