ABOUT
Our Client, a fast-growing restaurant and food outlet with a wide array of menus ranging from African dishes to continental cuisine served deliciously to her amiable customers is looking to hire a Departmental Supervisor who will assist the Restaurant Manager in directing and organizing the staff to ensure first class service, food & beverage offerings and marketing to maximize profits and guest satisfaction.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Assist the Restaurant Manager in Interviewing, selecting, training, supervising, counseling and disciplining outlet staff
2. Supervising the floor during meal periods to ensure that standards and steps of service are met through all guests’ interactions.
3. Ensuring that checklists, requisitions and proper opening and closing functions are being completed each shift.
4. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the staff.
5. Observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary.
6. Communicate with guests and employees using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information.
7. Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situation and/or heavy activity, serving as a role model for the staff and other hotel employees.
8. Interact positively with customers promoting restaurant’s services and goodwill.
9. Move throughout the facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met.
10. Verify temperatures, judge appearance and taste of products and check preparation methods to determine quality.
11. Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.
12. Utilize computer to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports and write correspondence.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
1. At least 4 years of proven work experience as a Supervisor in a reputable retail food-chain, restaurant or hotel, Hospitality Manager or similar role
2. Proven customer service experience
3. Familiarity with restaurant management software
4. Leadership, motivational and people skills
5. BSc degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus
