This covers ALL aspects of Project Work Areas. Engineering, Procurement, Construction (Fabrication and Installation). GM Operations is accountable for the success or failure of all projects.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES Project Delivery: 1. Lead and oversee the successful delivery of all projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards. 2. Implement best in class project management strategies and methodologies to optimize efficiency and mitigate risks. 3. Collaborate with project teams to resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during project execution. 4. Liaise with and enhance client relationships in real-time over the project life cycle. Operational Excellence: 1. Drive operational excellence initiatives to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and improve overall efficiency. 2. Oversee all project related operational activities, including procurement, production, quality control, procurement, logistics, and maintenance, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment with organizational goals. 3. Implement performance metrics and OKRs to monitor and evaluate operational performance, making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement. 4. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the operations department.
Resource Management: 1. Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. 2. Develop and implement as required resource planning strategies to ensure adequate capacity to meet project demands. 3. Monitor resource utilization and identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization.
Business Development: 1. Liaise with the wider team to identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive company growth and expansion. 2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and requirements to tailor solutions accordingly. 3. Liaise with Commercial to Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for diversification.
Stakeholder Management: 1. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including ACW, clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and community representatives. 2. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded throughout the project lifecycle. 3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and coordination across departments and stakeholders.
Vendor and Supplier Management: 1. Oversee and collaborate with procurement and other stakeholders to build and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors and suppliers, overseeing contract negotiations and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services Regulatory Compliance: 1. Liaise with QA/QC, HSE etc., to ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, standards, and procedures, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer: 1. Liaise with HCM to establish a structured knowledge transfer program. 2. Develop with HCM a knowledge management system that captures, stores, and disseminates learnings to the project teams. 3. Liaise with HCM to organize training sessions or workshops for colleagues. 4. Liaise with HCM to establish or leverage relationships with innovation centres and research institutes to drive efficiency in the operations of the company.
