PURPOSE OF THE JOB The job's purpose is to offer strategic leadership in delivering top-notch accounting and financial management services, executing the Bank's financial strategy, overseeing strategic planning, and budgeting, and ensuring business analysis, financial controls, and reporting to support BRD's strategic objectives.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES of the Job 1. Financial Strategy Development Create and execute financial strategies aligned with business goals. 2. Policy Implementation Establish and enforce financial and accounting policies for compliance and sound management. 3. Financial Reporting Coordinate timely and accurate financial reporting. 4. Budgeting Set guidelines and coordinate budget preparation with leadership. 5. Financial Advisory: Offer financial advice for funding processes and investments. 6. Bookkeeping Management Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, and payroll. 7. Cash Flow Management Ensure healthy liquidity according to policy. 8. Negotiations Engage in negotiations for credit lines and financial services. 9. Advisory Services Provide financial advice to the Board, CEO, leadership, and finance team. 10. Risk Management Develop financial risk management controls. 11. Regulatory Reporting Supervise financial and regulatory reporting for accuracy. 12. Liquidity Monitoring Recommend strategies for optimal liquidity levels. 13. Regulatory Compliance Ensure finance operations comply with regulations. 14. Financial Analysis Analyze financial statements and reports for improvements. 15. Talent Management Develop a talent management plan for the finance team. 16. Audit Coordination Oversee statutory audits by regulatory and external auditors.
Performance indicators 1. Availability of robust financial strategy, accompanied by detailed implementation plans. 2. Existence of comprehensive financial policies, guidelines and systems. 3. Timeless and precision of financial reporting. 4. Success in achieving the bank’s cost management targets. 5. Promptness in the budgeting process 6. 100% adherence to all pertinent financial guidelines and regulations 7. Availability of data support business planning 8. Full implementation of audit recommendations within the specified timelines 9. Financial performance of the bank 10. CEO’s access to essential financial and operational information through existing systems and tolls 11. Availability of an effective risk control and management framework 12. Compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
PROFESSIONAL, ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 1. Master’s degree in finance or a related field 2. Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, business administration, or a related field • Qualifications as an Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) 3. At least ten (10) years of experience in accounting and finance management, with a minimum of two (2) years in a senior management role within a financial institution or a complex organization Core competencies 1. Proven track record in developing finance strategies, policies, and procedures 2. Expertise in financial and management accounting 3. Proficiency in financial modeling 4. Experience in managing debits and credits 5. Strong skills in stakeholder relationship management 6. Expertise in cash flow management 7. Proficiency in financial risk management 8. Experience in reconciling financial records 9. Familiarity with various accounting systems 10. Knowledge of fixed asset management 11. Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally 12. Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 13. Knowledge of financial accounting standards 14. Experience in managing financial information 15. In-depth knowledge of tax legislation 16. Experience in managing treasury operations 17. Understanding of auditing principles 18. Awareness of risks and knowledge of risk management 19.
