DEPARTMENT/DIVISION/UNIT: Commercial JOB CLASSIFICATION Supervisor 2 LOCATION: Lagos REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: • Functionally Reports To: Head Commercial • Administratively Reports To: Head Commercial WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: • Internal Projects, Planning Engineering Production • External Clients JOB OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE OF JOB: 1. The Senior Business Development Analyst will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and developing new business opportunities for the client. 2. This role is critical in driving strategic growth, enhancing market positioning, and supporting the company’s long-term goals. 3. The individual will analyze market trends, collaborate with internal teams, and recommend strategies for business expansion. 4. The role will also involve preparing financial models, conducting market research, and supporting business negotiations. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES Market Research & Analysis 1. Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and competitive dynamics. 2. Analyze data to develop insights on industry trends, customer preferences, and potential business risks. 3. Monitor competitor activities and provide insights on how client can maintain and improve its market position.
Opportunity Identification & Evaluation 1. Identify potential business opportunities in new and existing markets. 2. Evaluate business opportunities by preparing detailed financial models and market assessments. 3. Support the development of go-to-market strategies for new products, services, or market segments.
Strategic Planning & Business Growth 1. Contribute to the development and execution of the company's business development strategy. 2. Collaborate with senior leadership to create long-term plans for business growth. 3. Develop recommendations for entering new markets, forming partnerships, and expanding product lines.
Financial Analysis & Forecasting 1. Prepare financial models, forecasts, and profitability analyses to evaluate potential business ventures. 2. Assess the financial and strategic implications of various business decisions and provide actionable recommendations.
Partnership Development & Relationship Management 1. Identify and build relationships with key industry stakeholders, partners, and potential clients. 2. Support business negotiations and assist in drafting proposals and contracts. 3. Maintain strong relationships with current clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Performance Tracking & Reporting 1. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development activities. 2. Provide regular updates to management on the status of key business opportunities, market trends, and competitive analysis. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS/PERFORMANCE GOALS 1. REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education Qualification 1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field. 2. An MBA or relevant professional qualification is preferred
Professional Qualification Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) Experience 1. 7+ years of experience in business development, strategy, or financial analysis, preferably in the engineering or oil & gas sectors. 2. Strong proficiency in financial modeling, market analysis, and business forecasting tools. 3. Experience in managing business negotiations and partnerships.
KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS: Functional/Technical Strategic Thinking & Analytical Skills 1. Strong ability to think strategically and analyze complex data to identify growth opportunities. 2. Proven experience in building financial models, conducting market analysis, and presenting findings clearly.
