MAIN JOB DESCRIPTION |
JOB OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE OF JOB: To oversee compliance in all piping related works. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION/UNIT: Quality JOB CLASSIFICATION Contract LOCATION: Port Harcourt REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: • Functionally Reports To: Quality Lead • Administratively Reports To: Head Of Projects WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: • Internal Yes • External Yes
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Follow up all relevant actions related to quality documentation throughout the production. 2. Ability to read and interpret Isometric Drawings, weld maps and P&ID 3. Record and log all production inspection points relevant to quality, including a final weld map and weld Summary report to detail complete close out of Fabrication activity. 4. Compare all reported information with the acceptance levels/criteria and clauses within the applied application standard. 5. Make a final inspection report which is signed off along with the updated as-built drawing or weld maps and submitted for Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for record analysis and for any remedial actions. 6. Evaluation of the NDT results and identification of any defects or discontinuities that may affect the quality or strength of the welds. 7. Verifying piping material identity (pipe, valves and fittings) and its conformance to the installation drawings 8. Verifying that welding inspection has been performed and joints have been released 9. Verification that dimensions and alignment tolerances of the piping systems are as per constructs specifications 10. In-process surveillance to verify compliance with specified piping erection procedure including flange alignments, torquing, cleanliness etc. 11. Performing piping walkdown inspection and completing punch lists. Verifying that punch list items have been closed with in accordance with the contractual arrangements. 12. Reviewing and verifying completeness of piping test packages (hydro or pneumatic) prior to testing. Witnessing final piping tests. 1. Completing and endorsing all inspection records from initial inspection till final acceptance of the piping systems 2. Maintaining interface with the Client to ensure that all contractual and code requirements are met as far as the work scope is concerned. 3. Ensure all inspection reports are timely collated and submitted to client. 4. Articulate, good communication skills in managing information, clients and subcontractors.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB |
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education Qualification Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum)
Experience 6 – 10 years in relevant field
KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS: Functional/Technical Good knowledge of ISO drawings, Wed maps. Technical report writing.
Managerial Subcontractor management, Client management
