ABOUT
Zomba Central Hospital is one of the four central hospitals in Malawi that is earmarked to become semi-autonomous with a Board of Trustees and needs support to strengthen quality and performance management systems in the hospital. This exiting advisory position is part of the broader health systems strengthening project implemented through the Malawi German Health Programme.

YOUR TASKS WILL INVOLVE:
1. Develop a system to systematically measure and improve the overall management and healthcare delivery performance of the hospital
2. Facilitate regular performance assessments using quality of care standards and support the development and implementation of quality improvement plans
3. Strengthen hospital controlling mechanisms and improve the patient record and filing system
4. Develop a capacity development plan for hospital management staff and departmental in charges
5. Coach and mentor hospital management staff and departmental in-charges on-the-job with spefic focus on performance management and adapting to changes in the legal and regulatory framework of the hospital
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB

YOUR PROFILE:
1. Masters Degree in hospital management, healthcare administration or another relevant degree
2. Five years management experience in a tertiary health facility
3. Expertise in quality management approaches
4. Working experience in sub-Saharan Africa
5. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English (C1 level). Good knowledge of other languages is an advantage
