JOB DESCRIPTION
1. To evaluate and present applications for funding and structure deals that contribute towards the SBU objectives and industry development goals. This would include performing the complex financial and/or technical and/or marketing due diligence functions across the country, as well as leading a due diligence team and ensuring risk identification and mitigation.
2. In addition, supporting the regional manager with driving new pipeline development as well as representing the IDC at various stakeholder platforms.
3. It is also required to assist the SBU Head with the implementation of corporate wide initiatives as and when required.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial / Shareholder Returns
1. Evaluate and effectively structure transactions with detailed application of IDC financing instruments.
2. Ensure financial soundness of all credit submissions.

Internal / Operational Processes
1. Evaluate applications for finance (financial, technical and marketing disciplines)
2. Deal structuring - Designing and negotiating the financial and legal relationship between the client and IDC for the specific deal.
3. Risk identification and mitigation
4. Leading of due diligence teams on SME transactions
5. Deal optimization - ensuring that the deal is aligned with the strategic objectives of the unit and will contribute to meeting the IDC’s industry development goals
6. Support the development and implementation of strategies or action plans to drive the SBU’s strategic objectives.
7. Account management function up to first draw
8. Prepare well written and motivated reports for presentation to the relevant Credit and other committees as required.
9. Conduct peer reviews on all due diligence disciplines.
10. Training, mentoring and coaching of Business Analysts and Dealmakers
11. Provide advice to Business Analysts and Dealmakers in the handling of enquiries and applications

Customer Focus & Stakeholder Management
1. To effectively interact with different SBUs and departments in order to fulfil the process requirements related to any specific deal / transaction.
2. Manage and enhance the levels of service and communication to ensure the provision of client service excellence.
3. At the delegation of the regional manager represent the IDC at various stakeholder platforms.

Supporting Regional Manager to build and maintain a strong deal pipeline
Support the regional manager to proactively drive new business growth in line with specific initiatives that are aligned to the SBU strategy including plan of action in respect of cold calling, presentations, travel plan, entertaining potential clients to extend the reach of the Regional Office resulting in new applications pitched and/or approved by the IDC.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
Minimum qualification: relevant commercial or technical honours degree

Knowledge and Experience:
1. 8 - 10 years related experience of which 8 years should be in deal assessment as well as closing of transactions ( i.e. management of approved deals up to first drawdown, including ensuring timely conclusion of legal agreements).
2. Declared competent in a minimum of two due diligence disciplines (Marketing, Technical or Financial)
3. Grounded in at least two disciplines
4. Transaction leadership (complex deals)
5. Knowledge in assessing all associated issues in a transaction (Legal, risks, etc.)
6. Experience in peer review
7. Experience in interpretation and analysis of financial statements
8. Knowledge of the market environment and technology landscape
9. Knowledge of financing instruments
10. Understand and review models of proposed financial structure
11. Competent in coaching and mentoring of team members
